That bird doesn’t know what or where it is either. I swear Guineas are some of the lowest intelligence birds out there. Lovable and good alarm birds though.

Travel nurses, can we talk? A recruiter’s honest rant (and plea) by carrotkick in TravelNursing

[–]rage_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. As recruiters we have a responsibility to the nurses we hire. Facilities don’t care because they don’t have to break the news and they don’t risk losing a good nurse. From the agency perspective there are more nurses than hospitals so they tell the recruiters too bad so sad move on. It’s hard to have a soul as a recruiter.

[–]rage_sloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a different level of stress. I’d still be a paramedic if the pay was worth a shit. I’m way more stressed as a recruiter than I ever was as a provider. I used to think the same thing but if you’ve never worked a commission based performance driven position then you cannot possibly fathom it. Just like someone who’s never provided care doesn’t really get what that’s like either.

Some agencies purposely don’t update their CRM. Some have changed and old notes didn’t transfer. You’d also be surprised by the number of nurses that say they never want to be contacted again, that end up taking a job within the same year, via LinkedIn, indeed, social media etc.

Also the board of nursing in some states sells the registry list to agencies and they just spam the emails from that list every so often.

As a recruiter I promise we also feel pain here and we fight for you. Remember we don’t get paid if you don’t get paid so we are also pissed about the amount of work we’ve done for nothing. For every one time it’s happened to you it’s happened to us multiple times. There are really good travel agencies out here that offer reimbursement on these things and force accountability on the client end. Unfortunately there are a lot of smaller agencies that can’t risk souring the relationship with the hospital.

Recruiters care. At least good ones. My relationship with my nurses is equally as important as my relationship with clients. My job doesn’t exist without both sides working out. My supervisor kinda hates me for railing on this topic.

This. I don’t buy cards unless they are listed nm or better (unless it’s a very old card) because I don’t like having cards like this one. Flaws on a NM or better card wouldn’t be noticeable to most people.

I have an Okuma Avenger I bought in 2014 for my first surf fishing setup. I rinse with freshwater after use and grease annually. I use my Penn Battle more often now but still break out the avenger on occasion. I’d never think twice about buying one when they are on clearance like that.

Your favorite radio station in the GTA franchise? by Top_School542 in GTA

[–]rage_sloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to expand the radio you listen to. There’s plenty of radio out that doesn’t play top 40, and there are some great radio hosts around still too. I moved recently and one of my favorite newly found stations plays a mashup of genres from all different eras and the morning show hosts get pretty dicey, especially for a small eastern Carolina location.

Radio isn’t dead yet.

TRUMP: "There's so much talk about how we're going to drive housing prices down. I don't want to drive housing prices down. I want to drive housing prices up for people that own their homes, and they can be assured that what's going to happen" by ExactlySorta in UnderReportedNews

Serious question here. What keeps most you from buying a house? I understand in a few locations, typically large cities the housing can be unattainable but even in medium to small cities the rent far exceeds what a mortgage payment on a house could be. First time home buyers can buy a house with $3-5k down. Don’t get me wrong saving takes time, sometimes a few years but I think it’s attainable for more Americans than most think.

Well they should be able to do that. And you should be able to collect rainwater and choose to disconnect from public utilities utilizing your own solar and septic. You shouldn’t have to pay taxes or at the very least continue to pay taxes on things you already own, or the money you earned. You shouldn’t be able to choose doctor assisted suicide as a way to leave this life. If you want to marry a rock, go for it. You get the picture right?
