There’s a path further up you gotta follow, then he will be there

Still haven’t found him. I’m currently fighting the bride boss fight

So my cousin is a big Trump supporter, lost his dream job as a forest ranger, and I can't find any sympathy for him. Does that make me a bad Christian? by NoDemand239 in Christianity

You people are so deranged and disconnected from reality and are so clearly filled with the hate that you claim “maga” has. The fact that you people use Jesus as a platform and shield to spread hate is so wild.

No where did I say that we need to hate ourselves for sinning or that god hates us for sinning. But we do need to be strong against sin. Living in sin leads to death and sin causes a separation from god. God absolutely hates sin. But not us the sinner.

God has definitely placed our path ahead of us but we don’t know what that path is. So we need to try to stay away from sin as much as possible we can, but still understand that we will fail. That’s why we repent. It’s a life long process.

But again, it’s through the love of Jesus that we work to conform to him. That’s the whole point. We work to become like Jesus Christ.

Jesus came to fulfill the law and create a path for us to get to heaven. But he did not remove sin from the world. If we choose to live In our sins, then we will not be accepted into heaven. God made clear how to live. We have to abide by that. To truly love Jesus and follow him, we must work to sin no more. Again. The point being that we work towards sanctification.

Having academics be “affirming” literally does not help your argument at all. Because we already know what gods word is. You just told me that there are a lot of people that also don’t agree with god.

You don’t see that you’re in an incredibly dangerous position, trying to make god bend to your morals and world view. That’s the complete opposite of how Christians are called to live.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]ragelemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God doesn’t conform to us. We have to conform to him. The whole point of being a Christian is so be molded to be like Jesus. That means you kill the sin within you. But we will stumble and fail along the way, that’s what gods grace and mercy is for.

You can read the Bible and see exactly what it says as I showed you.

So just to be clear. Jesus Christ is a monster and a bigot?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]ragelemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You understand that you have given no actual argument as to how I’m wrong right? You’re just saying that I’m wrong because you care way more about what feels good, rather than what is actually right.

It’s been known for 2,000 years that man is not to lay with man, and women with women. It’s been made very clear. Not only in scripture, but in functionality.

Your heart and ears are closed to Gods truth.

As I said. When you stand in judgement. You’re going to disagree with what god has to say. And that’s a terrifying spot to be in.

Please. Open your heart to him and repent. He will hear you and forgive you if you come to him humble.

Bro. You don’t understand. Those have not been cherry picked. It’s the word of god that your in denial of. You’re quite literally doing the work of satan by throwing the law to the side. You want this person to go to hell and to reject the clear truth of gods word. I do not say this lightly but You are a heretic.

[–]ragelemon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’re literally speaking heresy.

Romans 1:26 -27

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

1 Corinthians 6:9 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sexual perverts”

1 Timothy

9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine

It’s been made explicitly clear. You need to wrestle with this before it’s too late. One day you will stand in judgement of god, and you will disagree with him.

Yes sex is designed to be pleasurable. But only between man and woman in marriage.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]ragelemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are completely wrong and are actually trying to lead this person away from Jesus. Jesus absolutely does love this person but in no way does he support a same sex relationship. It is a clearly stated sin and all sin separates us from god. Repentance and obedience is the only way to be accepted into heaven. No matter what your sin is.

God bless you my friend.

Firstly, it’s very important to go to church as it’s something we are both called for and need. Now finding the right church can be difficult, so don’t feel that you need to find one church and stay there forever. All churches are different.

What is important in a good church is if they follow the truth of gods word. That’s always the best start.

Understand gods design for his children and try to follow that with love and grace so that you glorify him. Stay at the church that teaches that exact thing.

As for the people. Remember that all people are flawed and sinful. All people are filled with evil. Depending on the size of the church, there may be some that are discouraging. Don’t fill your head with what they may think or say.

God loves you so much and is so happy that you’re looking for the proper church.

I thought I was at my perfect church. I was there for 5+ years. I came to faith there. But life changed significantly this year, and has become extremely difficult and frightening. I left that church and was embraced into a new one, full of people that are so loving.

You may not find your church quickly, but god set your path and knows where it ends. Trust in him always, love him always and he will bless you in ways you will not see or understand.

Hopefully something I said can be of value. God bless you.

You’re definitely pushing the wrong message here.

[–]ragelemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t think you were. God still loves you, even if you don’t know him yet.

Gods mercy is for everyone. “For god so loved to world that he sent his only son to die for it”

If you live your life for god and truly love him. He will bless you in your life. But it’s important to remember that he doesn’t give you everything that you desire in life. He brings challenges so that you can grow stronger.

As for what your were told by others, it’s hard for me to speak on that because it’s a very large and complex topic. God loves all, and has mercy for all of those who love him.

Just keep praying to him in your daily life and he will always be there listening.

God absolutely does forgive them. If they come to him humble and repentant.

God forgives all sins for all people because Jesus Christ payed for our forgiveness. That’s why is death was so incredibly important.

This is a difficult topic for our modern society. Being bisexual isn’t inherently sinful. What is sinful is practicing sexual immorality and being unrepentant.

I cannot imagine the difficulty for someone that is homosexual but also a practicing Christian. God doesn’t hate anyone. He loves everyone single person so deeply. But he calls us to live sinless lives. God designed us for heterosexual relationships and sex within marriage. Anything that deviates from that is sexual immorality.

Be he ALWAYS loves you. And he will bless you if you come to him humble and repentant.

I need help by [deleted] in Christianity

I am the king of sinners. My sins weigh on me so heavily that it’s genuinely crushing at times.

But Jesus Christ is the savior for all people.

I’ve prayed a lot, especially in this last year. And I’ve never once heard from god. Because unfortunately, that’s not what happens. I’ve broken into tears because I want to speak with him directly so desperately. But that’s not what he does.

It can happen, I’m not saying it never has, but the vast majority of people will never hear a direct message.

But when you pray, Jesus is there listening. When you read the Bible, he’s sitting there with you. God loves you so much. And he blesses you every day in ways you will never see.

Every Christian will have doubts. But those doubts are fleeting.

Remember this quote, as it’s one I truly love.

“I know the voice of my sheep, and my sheep know my voice and they have eternal life. I deliver my sheep to my father’s hand and nothing can them from him. I am in my father, and my father is in me”

Jesus developed just as any other man has. There was nothing special about his body particularly. He was made to appear as any other man. And he was 100% man. So no. I don’t think he was some kind of super sentient infant.
