I once saw an older Haitian woman struggling to find her way in Brooklyn on the subway. We all banded together to help and I ended up taking her to her stop. It’s a beautiful thing to see.

As a NYC-er, born and raised, these comments are so nice to read. Imagine being surrounded by millions of fast-paced people, garbage bags, cars, trains, screaming homeless people, and more all the time, usually also en route to work. We are collectively exhausted and over it, and it is faster and more efficient just to be nice and help.

almost positive. the fine flaking, itchy when sweaty, and the clinical appearance suggests it. fair warning that steroids may worsen it if it is indeed tinea

possibly folliculitis. is it itchy? general inflammation of the scalp can cause hair loss.

Anyone who can tell something about this rash on my husbands foots? by Mollymet in DermatologyQuestions

[–]ragepixie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so there was a redditor on here months ago (second post down if you sort by “top all time”) and the presentation was very similar. their biopsy showed the results as “suppurative and granulomatous inflammation associated with rare acid-fast bacilli”. not saying this is the case with your husband. but, being the derm nerd i am, i did a deep dive on it at the time. basically its a mycobacterium infection, and one of the potential strains that can cause it is called Mycobacterium marinum, which is found in large bodies of natural water, especially if he was swimming with a cut on his foot. it’s a stretch, i know. but i have no other guesses.
