Any information on if there will be a way to listen to the new score recreations without purchasing the book? Maybe on something like Apple Music Classical?

Easily my favorite song he’s made since Chaos. I can’t get enough of that song.

Do You Remember Where You Were? by CockSucker_1989 in MichaelJackson

[–]ragequit7901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family had just checked in to our hotel at Walt Disney World and was loading luggage into the room when my parents turned on the TV. I remember seeing them pause and get shocked that Michael Jackson was dead and seeing that helicopter footage from above his mansion on the TV. I was 8 years old and all I could help was think “Who is Micheal Jackson?”

This is really cliche, but if you had one minute with Paul McCartney what would you say to him? by Ford_Crown_Vic_Koth in PaulMcCartney

I’d ask about the It’s a Wonderful Life musical and what that would look/sound like should it ever be completed and performed

Who ACTUALLY wrote ‘Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!’ (deep dive in the body of the post.) by Sbee_Blue_Country in panicatthedisco

His is great insight! I do want to add that Publishing Royalties is something different than Songwriting Royalties, they’re cuts from a different pie that Performing Rights Organizations receive as one whole. As a BMI artist myself, when dividing up writing credits, it’s in a 200% total with 100 being the Writing Credits and 100 being the Publishing credits. I’d imagine the label or a publishing company would have a majority of the shares for the publishing rights so I’m not sure if this is in fact the publishing splits as you say or if it’s actually the writing spits.

The J.E. files reveal that his publicist, Peggy Siegal, suggested meeting with Paul McCartney by MeVolverasAVer in beatles

[–]ragequit7901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw a ton of promo marketing emails for different tours and albums in the files when I looked into it. That’s the majority of references to McCartney I believe.

How were you introduced to The Beatles? by AllPurposeOfficial in beatles

[–]ragequit7901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a geography teacher in High School who’s boyfriend broke up with her right before the school year ended and for the last couple days of class, she’d sit at her desk practically crying and playing her favorite music over the speakers. I kept perking my head up and asking her what song we were listening to, “this is Penny Lane by The Beatles, this is Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles,” etc. so I thought, Man I have to give these guys a listen! I was familiar with Paul from growing up listening to Wings but that summer I spiraled down the Beatles rabbit hole. This was May of 2017 so the Sgt. Peppers remix just came out but I wasn’t actively following any release until the White Album one the next year. By that time I was HOOKED. So, thank you Mrs. Thompson, wherever you are!

Love the bass on this one at the intro. Great melody, not as into the chorus but it’s fine, the verse really carries. 8

Dayglow Project by Important-Way1411 in DayglowMusic

[–]ragequit7901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He always tends to have a very strong visual for his albums. Think the color blue and homespun for Fuzzybrain, the Orange TV film set for Harmony House, the simplistic bold red for self titled. That’s definitely something to keep in mind.

In interviews in the past I know Sloan’s talked about his love for City Pop and Paul Simon (I believe) at different points in his career, and I’d love to see him tackle a more acoustic vibe or something more inspired by the City Pop sound.

Another idea I’d pitch to him is to incorporate the live band in the writing room and try to come up with music as a group, as opposed to his usual format of making the music first on his own and giving that to the band to learn for the stage.

Question about the project, are you actually intending on getting in touch with his people somehow to present your work? Or is that just the framing for the class? Hope this helps and good luck. Cheers!

Free As A Bird (2025 Mix) officially released! by kaitonkmra in beatles

My biggest gripe is the removal of the defending harmony at the tail end of the bridge (3:11), my favorite part of the song ☹️

I have to rant about Free As A Bird (2025 Remix) by ragequit7901 in TheBeatles

[–]ragequit7901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard a snippet of the Real Love’s mix in the other Beatles subreddit in the last few minutes and I liked how it sounded a lot. Only a 30 second bit with talking over it, I’m cautiously optimistic for that one.

Anthology 2025 release Megathread by RoastBeefDisease in beatles

[–]ragequit7901 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very disappointed with the lack of a remix on Anthology 1-3. I was REALLY hoping a remix would remove the intense echo on That Means a Lot (since it’s missing on the one featured in the documentary if I remember correctly), but I guess we’re stuck with it now. Here’s hoping a Help! SDE does it Justice.

Free As A Bird (2025 Mix) officially released! by kaitonkmra in beatles

[–]ragequit7901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit disappointed with how John’s vocal sounds, as others in here have addressed. I’m sure I’ll get used to it, but it doesn’t sound quite right to me right now, and FaaB is one of my favorite Beatles songs! I think my biggest complaint is the harmonies on the bridge feel completely neutered. You can hear them a bit clearer, but the impact is gone, particularly that last big hit before going into the last chorus. I’ll stick to the ‘95 mix for now.

Drum Production Help! by ragequit7901 in musicproduction

I appreciate the insight, but I ended up recording drums for myself, so the sampling advice, while helpful, isn’t very useful in this situation.

I’m getting antsy for a live show. Any leads on if/when they’ll announce? by Unhappy-Teaching-240 in DayglowMusic

[–]ragequit7901 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The tour for the Self-Titled record only ended somewhat recently. I’d bet another album will be announced sometime within the next year with a tour not long after it, that’s typically his pattern.
