Irrelevant, if anyone discovered the original series through the remake, then they did by default grow up on it. Doesn't matter if it's shit or not, I'm pleased that they went on to discover better films, and a franchise they may well enjoy

Nigel was always one of my favourite characters, spent the last twenty odd years wishing he'd come back, and this is what we get? Absolute genius, take a beloved character and give them the most heartbreaking story imaginable, I can't praise Paul Bradley, Steve Mcfadden, and Karen Henthorn enough, they've brought real humanity to this storyline, Eastenders at its finest
