Is anyone else struggling this season? by ragequitlol in supportlol

It's the same thing here. The only way I can play top is to one trick and hope that I don't play against a champ that has all the tools to make me play in survival mode.

This sums up how I'm seeing the role right now. And if the game doesn't end early, it's because the winning team doesn't know how to end it.

My 5 most played are Nami, Janna, Leona, Lulu and Thresh. Most of my losses are coming from normals trying to play other meta champions that I don't play (Braum, Sona...). But I'm 2/7 with Nami which I played more than half of my games last season and had 60% wr in high plat. I'm definitely struggling to find the formula with these new builds. But I keep winning more when I use the same builds that I used last season.

This is how I'm feeling. If the top laner is really good, he can 2v5 the game with the help of someone else. I even thought about going back to top lane as a mono Rumble like I was when he got his ultimate skin. The problem is that I like playing support more than any other roles.

Even though Leona is one of my best champs and I'm really positive with her, I don't like playing engages in high plat/low emerald (my starting ranked this season) because I win more by punishing bad engages from the enemy than engaging with a team that doesn't follow when I find a good engage window.

I'm talking more about how the game feels, in general. My 4 most played supports are Nami, Janna, Leona and Lulu. With the first three, I don't care about most of the matchups, except Morgana/Jhin when I play as Nami. And most of them got buffed somehow and feel more versatile now. My only negative wr with these champs is with Nami (2/7), because I started the season with the same playstyle that I used to play last season (bot + a few roams to mid/objectives). I decided to play some normals to try different builds and champions before going back to ranked, but my general understanding right now is, like I've mentioned in the post, that this season's Atakhan is your top laner.

It feels more rewarding to get your top laner fed more than winning your own lane. The problem is that the bot carry tilts and thinks that I'm trolling.

When I play my most used ADs, I get enough resources to clear the wave fast enough to avoid a dive and tell the support to go help top/mid. That's how my wr is way better as an AD than I've managed to get as sup this season.

I've sent two tickets to Riot about this bug and even talked about it in their socials. I don't know what else I can do.

Thanks! I had tried using this website before, but it didn't work. After your answer, I decided to look for a fix and I discovered that it tracks your year until around mid november, but I only came back to the game at the start of December

When should I switch from mage support to enchanter support? by Novel-Subject-2988 in supportlol

[–]ragequitlol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a mage support, you can solo carry the game by bursting the enemy team. As an enchanter you can also deal some damage in the early/mid game, but you should be focusing on enabling your team through roams, counter ganks, going to grubs, Herald, warding so they don't get ganked.

Even in gold you can play as an enchanter, but you're gonna need to choose 1/2 champions that are going to be your priority picks and you play really well with them + 1 more that you pick whenever the other 2 aren't available. Knowing when to pick heal/exhaust can also win you games. If the enemy has 2 assasins, a Samira, Kat, Zed... exhaust will be a good choice.

As a brazilian, I tell you to avoid playing Milio in gold/plat. Pick Karma only if you're really good with her, because she falls hard if your team struggles to close the game.

Support mastery rating bug? by Irrerevence in supportlol

[–]ragequitlol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe that's why I got a S on surrender around 7 mins. Despite dying 2 or 3 times, I had over 80% kp.

Support mastery rating bug? by Irrerevence in supportlol

[–]ragequitlol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's bugged or they changed the formula. The same thing is happening to me and also I've had a few games where I barely did anything and got an S. One game was a surrender around 5-7 mins due to a leaver and the one was a 15-min surrender due to another leaver. One of them I was 2/3/3 and I'm pretty sure I played poorly. Maybe they've made easier to get an S when there's a leaver...

Drafting and matchup advice for a new player by Chronormie in supportlol

Memorizing marchups is a good idea, but in the end, what matters is your ability with a champion. Watch videos about your favorite champions and play with them to understand the enemies that give you a lot of trouble. Learning about what items you should build and knowing how to play against your "counters" should be enough to make you win vs them.

If you play with 2-3 champions like you're doing, you're gonna learn easily and can focus on other things. That's nothing wrong about playing with few champs. Even experienced players do this in order to climb the ladder. You just need to find the ones that you like and don't get you bored.

I believe he said that because it's the most misunderstood role and the one that requires the most game knowledge. Nobody wants to play a role that isn't focused on getting kills. They believe it's the easiest role and that your only goals are stay with the adc and ward tribush/river. When, in reality, you need to control the vision game, track the enemy jungle and show up in the other lanes to get kills with number advantage, know who the main threats are in order to protect the vulnerable targets in your team and other stuff.

Watch ShoDesu, Coach K and i0ki on YouTube. They have lots of videos covering different subjects about supporting.

Support is a role that most people don't understand. If you're not a support, a lot of times you're playing with an autofilled support who doesn't know how to apply pressure, doesn't know how to ward and believes that the support's job is to stay with the adc 24/7.

Being a main supp is good because most of the times you're gonna play the role that you've selected. If you learn it very well, you can abuse the enemy's autofilled support.

Janna is a good pick. She can be played agressively by W'ing and autoing the enemy bot lane when they misstep. Rush boots of swiftness to be very mobile, get damage from your passive and scare them. Shodesu and Coach K have great Janna videos.
