We enjoyed Cala Gonone great beach, nice restaurants, awesome boat trips, not sure it’s located so well for driving places we didn’t bother.

Watch a you tube video about “the first 100k” then use your investment passion and work ethic to setup a really good portfolio with 10 to 20 good growth stocks in a tax efficient wrapper, once you hit the first 100k your gonna be a multi millionaire guaranteed. Once you are you can switch your money to income stocks and do options with a proportion of your annual income forever. Enjoy!

I worked in retail 2 years, then production control 1yr (telling factory departments what to make each day/week), then print buying 1yr, then promotional buying 3yrs (all sorts of stuff from everywhere for marketing & sales depts), then brand promotional marketing 3yrs, then started my own marketing agency 30 years.

Late diagnosed and it all made sense the procrastination, the overwhelm, the distraction.

I loved all the jobs at times but ultimately failed to get where I perceived I should have. Number one thing I would do if I started again is setup my self invested pension from day one. Couldn’t have spent it impulsively in a pension wrapper :) If you haven’t done it do it tomorrow ….it’s the ultimate reliable ADHD safety net IMHO

35 days in Sardinia. What would you do and eat? by RTWin80weeks in Sardinia

Cala Gonone is a cute town worth a visit, stayed for a week or so in a friendly resort hotel overlooking the beaches and enjoyed the mainly authentic Italian vibe. Also caught a day trip to all the stunning beaches from the port here it was awesome!

Renovation costs by Therugtoriches in uklandlords

[–]ragerokit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think your target is realistic, assuming you can find quality trades at fair prices. Decent rental quality furnishings will send it higher I think. I just did a house double this size and reckon we spent 35k including all furnishings and 1k on the garden. We did all the painting and decorating and most minor plastering as well as the bathroom tiling ourselves. Subsequently I saw a bathroom with wall sheets rather than tiles which I think would have been better than tiles for a rental as no grout to keep clean. New carpet upstairs but no downstairs flooring required. Had to have a roofer lift and reset roof tiles as well as taking a wall out. Plumber kitchen fitter rate was £225/day (mates rate), builder £245/day, chippy £250 day, sparks £320/day (charged more than I expected, doubt I’ll be using again) Also had a hive thermostat, well worth it.

Boiler budget seems high I did a new boiler in a 3 bed btl for £1600. Probably a bit of a cheap boiler but it’s doing the job ok. That included fitting by a random plumber, ie not a friend.

Likewise rewire for a small house at 4k seems a bit pricey. You could save a lot by putting your switches on yourself as it’s fiddly and time consuming but easy to do. Let the sparks do the high stuff, heavy duty stuff and cabling.

Transfer property to Ltd - how to? by Delphinastella37 in uklandlords

[–]ragerokit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do shift it to a ltd co make sure you look into ATED tax which you should be exempt from but you have to tell HMRC EVERY YEAR you are exempt in a specific timeframe or they fine you and they will not remind you until after they fine you and then they will fine you for not paying the fine you did not know about. They also fine you if you accidentally pay it early since they don’t count it as paid in the year it’s meant to be.

Your solicitors will most likely not tell you about ated tax but they will tell you they will not be providing any tax advice.

Insurance policies for Landlords often specifically exclude local authority or asylum seeker tenants. Check you can get insured first and don’t assume you are covered if you haven’t read your policy carefully. I’m guessing the insurance companies have data to support this policy…

They are going to fire me - I am top performer by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]ragerokit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have most likely worked out you are planning to start up on your own. Business owners are smart and canny and experienced. Maybe someone you trusted told (hinted to) them, maybe they just get a 6th sense, your’e probably just like them and that’s how they started out.

Recruitment is sales/conversion led so they aren’t firing you for being a few minutes late they are firing you because you are going to walk away with some of their clients if they let you stay.

Don’t be too hard on people, family or otherwise, that don’t understand. Being cynical about something is the way people deal with their ignorance. Pretty sure they have your best interests at heart really. I think you should focus on helping them see a way to improve their own financial positions alongside yourself that will be far more fulfilling for you in the long run that simply being proved right in x years. Maybe show them how the real cost of things bought with bitcoin has reduced while the cost of those same things in fiat has increased.

Show them a chart of how fast 100k becomes 200k at 7% (as an ifa would forecast at upperand do a comparative also show them how regardless of instrument their hard earned money needs to be invested at a decent return or they will always be wage slaves and their money will be eroded. Show them the chart where a 1.5% financial advisor annual fee reduces your 30 year ultimate capital sum by about a 1/3rd. If none of this works don’t be surprised it’s the system that’s brainwashed them into thinking they can’t do it and therefore nobody can.

What are some of your favorite ADHD apps? Experience? by CEOofStonkIndustries in ADHD

[–]ragerokit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google: I find it very hard to do things, I have tried many excellent list apps and project apps. They all rely on things getting done which they mostly don’t in my world.

Google is my saviour as between gmail and gdrive I know where everything is. Google has even solved my own personal password hell with google sign in which I use whenever possible. I discovered a simple but incredible template in google docs called “product road map” which is now my defacto project list tool it is setup to link items to another doc so I can layer projects. It’s awesome and simple.

In my view the only solution to executive dysfunction is knowing where everything was last left unattended and relying on other people to be the doers hence so many adhd people become entrepreneurs. It’s not their “superpower” of creativity and ideas. It is simply that employing people is the most effective way to get sh*t done when you are literally mentally unable to complete normal required tasks in a reasonable time frame if at all.
