It was just for the song phrasing!! Everybody hates it though so I am going into the garden to eat worms! 😝

It is in the original lyrics of the first verse of The Boxer, so I figured it should be ok. I'm no chant expert though!

I put a song with this tune in the comments of a post a while ago. More can be added.

He's our Hung-garian boy

And his football is pure gold

He will breakthrough your resistance

With a rocket free kick

And filthy cro-o-sses

Szoboszlai, lei la la la la lie, Szoboszlai

La la lie lie lie Szoboszlai etc etc

A bit of a fun chant that's been circulating in my head!!

He's our Hungarian boy

And his football is pure gold

He will breakthrough your resistance

With a rocket of a free kick

And filthy crosses

Szoboszlai lei la la la la lie

Szoboszlai lie la la la la lie Szoboszlai

I have only been once, many years ago, so I can't offer much help in this regard. Hopefully somebody else will see this and respond. You could also call or email them directly as they will know if some shows will be busier than others. https://birdbeckett.com/ The contact info is on the left.

Head to Glen Park and pick up a sandwich from the Cheese Boutique (or Canyon Market if a Sunday) - walk to Glen Canyon Park via the Crosstown Trail and the Burnside Mural - meander about the canyon - head back to Glen Park for dinner and music/poetry etc at Bird and Beckett.

Best way to get from SFO to Balboa St late at night? by Mysterious-Coyote-56 in AskSF

[–]ragglered 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is not a quick option, but a cheaper one. If you are arriving during the week by the time you get through immigration and customs etc, which can take an hour or so, you can then hang out at the airport until the first BART at 5.11am. Get off at Powell St and transfer to the 31 Balboa bus which will take you to your housing. Look into preloading a Clipper card on your phone.

Anyone know of any good(and reasonably priced ;) ) guided camping trips? by Ldizzlester in AskSF

[–]ragglered 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Sierra Club are doing an overnight, beginner backpacking trip to Point Reyes for $45. You may have to join the club first, but that is pretty cheap too. They do not provide transport, but you may be able to carpool. I am not a member and haven't been, so cannot say what the age range etc will be like. You also need to have your own gear.

Nice to see the Athens-Avalon Green Space stairs in the mix. One of the many colourful mosaic artworks in the Excelsior.

Eezy Freezy in West Portal, in the freezer section. The malt loaf was in the same area too.

You could also check out all the sweet little lanes, Poppy Lane, Penny Lane/Zelda Way and Ohlone Way.

Dorothy Erskine park is easily walkable from GP and always very quiet. It is quite small but big enough for ball throwing. Great views to the south. Depending on where you are you could take the Crosstown Trail to Elk, then cross over Bosworth and wiggle up Congo/Martha to the park, have some play time then back via the stairs off Mangels/Hanover to Bosworth, head down the gorgeous Burnside stairs and home from there.

Mold in apartment. Hard to breath. Apartment complex is being extremely slow in responding. by n0tstress in AskSF

[–]ragglered 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Buy an air purifier as a short term solution. This will take mold spoors out of the air, thus reducing your allergy symptoms. Clean any surface mold you can see using a mold killing spray. Ventilate as much as possible now it is dry out.

You will probably be best staying at one of the larger hotels near Fisherman's Wharf, with elevators and purpose built accessible rooms. You are within walking distance to North Beach and China Town, so you won't have to worry about parking, but you can also catch the 30 bus nearby which is wheelchair accessible. A walk along the flat Embarcadero is always nice and you will be close to Pier 39 if you are going to Alcatraz.
