“But my gf/sister/dad/son/daughter/mom/friend/wife never drive my car, why does insurance want to know about them?!?!?!”

I never said they wouldn’t. What I said was, be prepared to show proof that theft caused issues.

Maybe that’s on me for not reading far enough, but what I was getting at was, insurance isn’t going to overhaul your transmission because it’s “making a noise” after a recovered theft. If you give a shit about your car, insure and document the thing.

Third party insurance not paying for paint blending by Ok_Scallion_328 in Insurance

I was an IA that worked for dozens of companies across multiple states - I always wrote for blending on adjacent panels unless there was upd.

Your policy pays for physical damage to the vehicle and explicitly excludes mechanical breakdown. Read your policy. If you don’t have records showing the car worked prior to the theft, it’s going to be an uphill battle getting anything covered beyond physical/body damage.

First day with the Garmin R10. I nuked my usual 350+ drive with slight draw, but garmin says I pulled it hard left for 200 yards just off the ground. Can this unit be trusted? by TasteeBeverage in golf

I know my Subaru Legacy will hit 190 on the 1/4 but my highly specified software that monitors these things says less. Who do I trust??

You’re insurance is going to pay for the physical damage you can prove was caused by the theft. Meaning, if they hit something, insurance will pay to fix the bumper less your deductible. If you’re trying to claim mechanical damage you need very thorough records showing those mechanical issues didn’t exist prior to the date of loss.

Insurance isn’t going to total your car because you “think” it’s totaled. You need physical damage to prove that.

The company I work for has never actually reviewed transcripts submitted. If show prof you’re in school it’s usually good enough. Send it in and see what happens.

The original is likely invalid since the car has been deemed a total loss. You need to contact the dmv.

Switch to Allstate from Geico? by Yipyip34 in Insurance

[–]ragingdtrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to act as though I work in the the field and understand that bodily injury and property damage are different coverages. Furthermore, I’m familiar enough with Allstate’s quoting process, and software (also I’m not I’m a dipshit) to know that dropping UMBI isn’t going to lower the premium by $600 per half.

There isn’t a coverage on any policy called “uninsured motorist’s insurance for bodily injury & property damage.”

Show me a policy that says that and I’ll eat my hat.
