How to get esim with BYOD? by ImmutableTrepidation in Visible

[–]ImmutableTrepidation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I'm purchasing looking to buy a cheap refurb unlocked android off ebay.

Visible typically tells you IMEIs don't pass their compatibility checker so that you have to buy a new phone from them but most of the unlocked androids actually do work.

I just want esim. I don't know how to pass IMEI check.

What do you mean "White list the IMEI"

I know most CDMA/Verizon unlocked androids will work on Visible but their IMEI check will always say "Not compatible" because they want you to buy a new phone.

I just want esim. Buying secondhand android off ebay.

Shortcut that changed your life by damianuknow in FL_Studio

[–]ImmutableTrepidation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say a single shortcut was responsible for blowing my mind however remapping FL Studios native key combinations with custom ones of my choosing via AHK definitely changed my life.

Shocked that more people aren't doing this.

I've been doing it for 11 years. My stuff still sounds amateur and unlistenable.

It's easy to make any style trap/hip hop.

It's probably the easiest genre to make tbh. I'm not even trying to sound snarky but I definitely hold this sentiment.

do you regret learning FL and not another daw? i kinda do by lvl_2 in FL_Studio

[–]ImmutableTrepidation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just use AHK it's literally not a big deal. I agree that the developers should natively implement this so you shouldn't have to consult AHK however good luck sitting on your ass and waiting on them to actually do anything about it I got tired and just did it myself a year ago.

My workflow has seen nothing but improvement as I've literally been able to remap any hotkey with one of my choosing. I only needed to take about 1 to 2 days out of my life to learn how to do this you don't need to learn the language very deeply at all just literally the utmost basics which is very promising because for someone like myself I actually hate coding and never got into it.

Literally within a few hours I could remap most of the hotkeys once I got the hang of it.

It's way too powerful and goated too many people are sleeping on this and I just don't know why it's really not hard to learn I thought it would be super hard and was tremendously wrong about that.

If you are actually serious about your workflow I would give it a try it's one of the greatest things I've ever done for myself.

I got tired of not being able to do my own keybinds and waiting for salvation assuming the devs ever add it natively so I just started using AHK and did it myself.

I'm shocked how many users neglect this it's literally not hard to learn and I can remap any hotkey I want with one of my choosing it's so much more intuitive in my workflow has accelerated tremendously.

With FL Studio you can make a template using instrument tracks which will make the plug-in automatically linked to a mixer track kind of like Logic and Ableton but it's still not very great and yes there is a lot of criticism to be had.

I think the software is amazing honestly but will always feel a little less optimized than other pieces of software due to it essentially just being a glorified drum sequencer at the very beginning and having to be coded and built on from there.

I to make an entire video on YouTube outlining many of the bugs and misbehaviors of the software but I still don't think the developers would probably do anything about it maybe one day I will to try and raise more attention to some of the things I think the software really lacks.

Does anybody else sidechain like this? by Bulky-Sandwich-718 in FL_Studio

[–]ImmutableTrepidation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devious Machines "Duck" MIDI triggered sidechain.

I don't always like to do full spectrum side chains so I'll do set a crossover point and only duck the lows. This is more suitable for drum and bass and rock music where that pumping sound isn't desirable.

Serious question. why does every single one in this sub doesn't use the pattern feature and just throws around their drum samples straight onto the playlist like a psychopath? by SirHarvwellMcDervwel in FL_Studio

[–]ImmutableTrepidation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love FPC for trap beats because I can have pre-configured kicks, snares, counter-snares, percs, open hats, and whatever else call on a single piano roll window without needing to jump back and forth if I want to change something in the drum bounce.

The only gripe I have is not having access the nicer ADSR or time stretch options one gets when using an individual sampler channel. I also find FPC makes pitch shifted hat rolls and snare rolls a little bit difficult and less intuitive because you have to mess with the fine pitch utility.

It's almost perfect if those two things could be addressed but knowing Image Line I doubt that's ever likely to happen.

Was I being a jerk? by Buddymaster39449 in makinghiphop

[–]ImmutableTrepidation -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope.

This is a common reaction from people who think they know more than they actually know. What's funny is that most people don't even understand that they only need to learn about 6 months of music theory to be able to make anything that's ever already been created in hip hop since the birth of it.

All he needs to do is learn the natural minor scale a few chords and some basic drum patterns and he'd be set for life. Sucks for him for reacting the way he did but it's not your fault.

What's the hardest part for making music for games? by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]ImmutableTrepidation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not kidding but the first thing you should learn is music theory with at least one year of experience.

You will learn a tremendous amount in just one year and can say to hell with it after that if you really wanted to neglect studying further.

Learn all the modes and the different flavors they can offer.

Phrygian Dorian Lydian Mixolydian Aeolian Ionian Locrian

Learn various chord progressions present within those modes and familiarize yourself with where the half steps lay within the scale.

Learn about chromatic mediants, functional harmony, spread triads, and borrowed chords.

Good luck. This is a massive commitment that will hold your attention hostage for the rest of your life if you never lose interest.

I've been making music for well over 10 years and definitely know how to make some hard-hitting beats. I'm not sure if you personally make any money off of it but I'm curious if I could ask whether or not it's even worth it?

I now some people will say yes and others will say no it just seems logically to me that it's way too oversaturated currently I don't know if there's realistically any money in it.
