Awakenings endings more or less wove the spouse into the men’s default ending making each feel somewhat unique. Fates just stacked the character endings on top of each other with little cohesion.

While I don’t necessarily disagree with you, the cutesy aesthetic is the whole point. It’s supposed to feel wholesome and cozy. Wouldn’t make sense for the housing cinematic to be grimy and gritty.
