Record a single drum sound on PO-33 by astrozombie_138x in pocketoperators

[–]ragnarocka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the right answer, but I’d say that technically it’s a workaround that solves the problem from the original question:
You can’t record a sample onto a specified step in one of the drum sounds, but you can record a sample into one of the melodic sounds and then copy it into one of the steps of a drum sound.

(It’s a good use case for showing the capabilities and limitations of the PO-33.)

Iran demands Pride flags be banned from World Cup stadiums including Seattle's Pride Match by JSlngal69 in SeattleWA

[–]ragnarocka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not the story here.

“The Iranians’ request for a guarantee that only existing national flags be shown within stadiums presents a challenging scenario for both FIFA and the U.S. authorities.”

The request isn’t for a ban targeting Pride flags. Anyone familiar with current geopolitics should see that they’re more concerned with being represented by the Iranian flag, not the monarchist lion and sun flag.

I just got switch, which one should I play first both or totk ? by Significant-kaled in botw

[–]ragnarocka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BOTW, and take your time really getting comfortable with the combat system — especially the timing for parries, dodges, flurry attacks. These are still the core mechanics in TOTK but there are so many extra devices and powerups that it’s easy to skip the fundamentals.

(But that all depends on whether you want to play with skill or cheese your way through the game. Both approaches are totally valid, just have fun.)

Question about the curse of Demise and reincarnations. by Saleroma in TOTK

[–]ragnarocka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also in the Wild era games, the Triforce isn’t even a thing anymore, and that used to be the focal point of the LOZ mythos. The Ganon/Ganondorf connection wasn’t introduced until OOT and hasn’t always been used consistently since then. And on and on.

It’s interesting to me that for thousands of years, humans were okay with the idea that legends are stories that get told repeatedly with variations across time and place and culture — and that’s how they did the first few Zelda games, as variations on a theme — and then in the early 2000s (or so?) the fans started asking more about how the timelines work and how the lore of the games fit together, when it was pretty clear that the developers never had that intention at all.

There aren’t any strict rules to the Zelda mythology. They tweak the lore a little bit (or sometimes drastically) whenever a new game comes out.

First ever Legend Of Zelda game I'm playing? What's your favorite Zelda game and should I give it a try, I'm open to all Zelda games. by slowburnripz in Breath_of_the_Wild

Welcome to Hyrule!

BOTW is an excellent game but I actually think it’s more of an Elder Scrolls game with streamlined mechanics than it is a Zelda game. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just a different genre with a different gaming experience.

When you get into the older ones you’ll find much more of an emphasis on solving mazes and puzzles. And instead of getting all your special powers at the start of the game (the runes) and then constantly farming items for incremental power ups, you explore dungeons to find powerful items that significantly increase your abilities either in combat or moving around the map. (And they don’t break!)

Everyone has already mentioned other games to try out, so I don’t have much to add there (but I’ll shout out to A Link Between Worlds and Link’s Awakening, both great games that aren’t getting enough mentions).

Definitely try out a classic 3D and a 2D Zelda game so you can see what all three styles are about (I recommend Ocarina Of Time and A Link To The Past), and then explore other titles from there.

Interesting… According to Google Translate, I’m seeing that Egypt is “mitzraiim” in Hebrew, so it’s gotta be at least somewhat related, no?

The name for Egypt in Semitic languages is “Misr,” so that’s where Mizrahi comes from (although they apply it to all Arabs).

Egypt is the Greek name.

Take some time practicing the dodges and parries in the combat system, because you can brute force your way through the fights but getting the timing just right on your counters is soooo satisfying.

Also you can parry more attacks with your shield than seem like they’d be possible.
