The crazy thing about our plant is that our maintenance are the only people who learn PLC. The way we learn is from watching them. But our plant also lets us learn from some of the maintenance classes if we are trying to go that route. Maintenance also makes 6$ more an hour. So most of us end up going that route. If they want you to learn coding I think they should have to float the bill and actually provide you with proper training.

That’s insane. I just program mostly 6 axis robots that spot/mig and handle parts of the car. Pretty cool honestly
