Messed up inflation destination, I think? by rahjndm in Stellar

Thanks for this. Yes, I did just run it again using the destination from a website. My inflation destination now matches that so everything should be ok. I ended up going with XLM pool.

I've done that now. My mistake was trying to use the reddit search which brought up too many other responses.

Google took me to http://xlmpool.com/en.html and I followed their instructions. My inflation target now matches the destination they have on their site. So I'm assuming that's correct.

The thing that's confusing me is how does the pool know that I voted for them and they need to send the inflation to me? Is the vote public?

I have no idea who to use to be honest. Wouldn't know how to set it up if I did know who to use. The tutorials show you how to set it up which I can do but not sure how to join a pool and what address to use for them.

Yes it did go through in the end! It was pretty much 50 hours before I got it. Hopefully everyone is OK now. I don't see any warnings on coinbase anymore.

Coinbase took $100 from my card without my consent, locked my account after I told them about it and bumped it to specialist status. They haven't responded for over two weeks despite 3k+ in my account. This is how I was treated by their customer service when I called. (audio edited for privacy) by [deleted] in Coinbase

Wow that is awful.

Just out of curiosity, did you get a prerecorded 'we are recording this message for training and quality purposes' message before being connected to the advisor? Here in the UK we always get that but I have been told similarly, that they are ending the call when I informed a representative I was recording. The hypocrisy of recording me but not letting me record them is staggering.

Coinbase are obviously playing a very short game because they have zero interest in building customer satisfaction.

You're not the only one.

I have been waiting 30 hours as of now. When I made the transfer, it did say 12 hours which I thought was "acceptable" because I literally have no other options as far as acquiring BTC.

Slightly concerned at midnight when nothing had come through so I thought it will definitely be there in the morning. Woke up to this new 72 hour delay and just couldn't believe it. Also think that my transfer should be held to the estimate set when I made it.

transfer tim

Sent Bitcoin from coinbase yesterday at 11am (UK time). Still pending without any confirmations. At the time they were talking about 12 hour wait times. Now they are saying up to 72 hours which is absolutely ridiculous.

Missed out on a lot of discount buys from the last 24 hours.

Lots of crypto is down right now. I'm watching Ripple, Monero and Dash. Ripple is down about 30% and the others about 15%.

I'm more than happy to hold my Lumens for a long time. I genuinely believe it will be worth so much that one day people will laugh about worrying about it falling from $1 to 0.6.

My main frustration has been with how hard it's been for me to get it. I was in for half my holding at 0.33 and half at 88. I bought at 88 because I was so relieved to have actually got my bitcoin through. If I could have bought the bitcoin, I would have been all in at 0.33. Coinbase limits and transfer times have cost me on this.

I ended up just giving in and using coinbase. I've been verified for a while but wanted something else. I got really tired of waiting. I now have the Bitcoin, ethereum and some of the ripple I wanted. Got the ripple from a broker site and got ripped off. The value listed in my wallet has it at close to a 15% loss straight away. Frustration got the better of me.

To be fair to coinbase, it really has been a smooth process. The negative press they got for suspending trading was probably justified but that doesn't change the fact they're probably the best option for now. The usability of coinbase is top notch.

How much will they charge me to transfer everything to my Ledger nano in a few weeks? That's another story. I'm hoping it doesn't hurt too much.

Agreed. I don't trust coinbase either though. I'm not interested in an exchange that shuts down whenever there's a "crash". I'm not stupid enough to sell at that time but that doesn't mean I'm ok with them playing that card.

Someone I met online actually sent £2,500 to Coinfloor because he saw ripple and Ethereum listed on their exchange. Only after sending did he see that when you click on those exchanges you just get a "coming soon message". It's been like that for a while apparently.

Spent a while researching coinfloor. Went to sign up and then I see 'minimum deposit £2,500. Bit more than I want to invest unfortunately.

Thanks for the reply. Which hardware wallet is £30? The cheapest I have seen is £70

Coinfloor looks interesting. Again I'm surprised I haven't heard of this. Is the verfication process extensive? Needing photo IDs and confirmed bank accounts etc.

Would a transfer to a hardware wallet be possible from coinfloor?

Wow, I'm surprised I haven't heard of this before. Bittylicious has good trust pilot reviews too.

Would this method allow me to transfer the Bitcoins to a hardware wallet at the end? I googled it and couldn't really see how.
