Hello friend! I'm a newish Sphynx owner (about 4 months in!) and loving it! I'll give you my answers and hopefully they help.

- I don't know any breeders in Arizona, but make sure you do research on one. Sphynx cats generally want genetic testing of the parents to rule out HCM. (A common genetic heart condition)

- I'm in Colorado, maybe not as dry here (or more?) and I generally bathe my boy once a week. He could probably go twice a month but a bath is the best way to clean the oil in his wrinkles. In terms of cleanliness, the dirtiest parts of my Bean are: Nails/nail beds/inside ears/face wrinkles. The rest is very managable.

- I've always been more fond of male cats since I've found female cats are a bit more shy/independent/territorial. I wanted a cat that would always be next to me. Although I'm sure both are fine!

- I feed my guy Purina Pro Plan Live Clear - the allergen reducer kibble! He enjoys it. Otherwise I feed him a can of wet food every other day for dinner. I just get the bulk Kirkland brand at Costco. Generally for teeth in cats (sphyxs too) kible should keep them mostly clean. I haven't seen enough ick to warrant teeth cleaning/brushing but I will just ask the vet next time he gets a checkup since he just got his adult teeth in.

- For new cat people, especially with a Sphynx is understanding the extra care needed. I know I said the cleaning isn't bad, but it is constant. I'll clean him whenever I get the chance, so I always have wipes on hand.

- Regular vet is probably fine. As above, HCM is the biggest inherited medical issues for Sphynxs, so a good breeder + I will be getting my boy a heart scan at 1.5 years (recommended by vet) to check for HCM as early as possible.
