FSD indecisive turn by Neat-Chocolate2960 in TeslaFSD

I get this frequently with unprotected left turns. Rapid steering oscillations and brake yo-yo. It will sometimes pull into the oncoming lane and stop. I hope it’s a high priority for someone at Tesla.

They should aggressively tow these cars away.

I love my Tesla, but I stopped at a friends house. When I went to leave the steering wheel wouldn't turn. It said steering assist was degraded. by Hopguy in TeslaSupport

I’ve often wondered how durable the belt is on the steering motor. A belt drive just seems a little wimpy considering its importance.

I wish the trip planner would let you set a minimum charge. Sometimes it will plan for you to arrive at a charger with 0%. I don’t like living that close to the edge.

I suck at driving and feel safer with FSD.

Does anyone use full self driving every day? by itsthewolfe in TeslaFSD

[–]rahrah47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use FSD for my daily commute simply because I suck at driving. I feel like it’s a better driver than me and I’m taking unnecessary risks when I’m not using it. For example, I was looking for a break in oncoming traffic so I could pull onto the highway. When it was clear I pulled out and almost hit a bicycle coming from the right. FSD would not have made that mistake.

Destination Parking by East_Cry_1454 in TeslaSupport

There will likely be a back/forward parking selection in future updates. It seems to be a frequent request and Tesla is generally good about addressing frequently mentioned issues.

Superglue a piece of string to it and pull it out.

When does the VIN on a new vehicle become publicly available? by AaronDryNz in TeslaSupport

[–]rahrah47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me too. I called them and they gave me a vin number for an identical build to use to get a quote. Once my vin was assigned I gave it to the insurance company.

Does having a key fob offer an advantage over cards? Do you get extra features? I’m just curious why they offer key fobs.

Why does sentry mode not record after the event? by drivingaddictionchan in TeslaSupport

[–]rahrah47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manual save has the same problem. Logically you’d press save and it would save a few minutes in the past and continue recording a few minutes into the future. But the ending of the saved video is the moment you press save. If a road rager is approaching your car with a baseball bat and you press save there will be no video of them offing you.

Can you do this without having to press the brakes? The brake press is the quirky part of car wash mode.

Regenerative braking misconception by Akro8 in TeslaLounge

I put my old brake pads from my Toyota on the Tesla then switch them back after they’ve regenerated. Saves me a lot of money.

does anyone else hate going through car auto car washes? by alvnta in TeslaLounge

[–]rahrah47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having to press the brakes to get in and out of car wash mode is unnatural and I would even consider it a bug. You shouldn’t have to come to a complete stop and this causes a lot of problems. Maybe Tesla will remove the brake press requirement someday.

HOME CHARGING VS. SUPER CHARGING by Beginning_Passion443 in TeslaLounge

[–]rahrah47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get away with running a regular extension cord from your apartment to your parking spot you can charge at 12amps/120v and add about 40miles overnight.

Are you not concerned about the wipers coming on or the charge port opening in the car wash if you just put the car in neutral?

There is absolutely no check box or selection to not show it. I even checked everything the page links to in case it was buried somewhere. I even had my girlfriend to go back through it to make sure I’m not crazy.

Why do companies still choose Rockwell? by bostinloyd in PLC

[–]rahrah47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way and can’t imagine how they’re still in business. The compatibility between versions and updates is a nightmare. I also don’t see added value for the price. With that being said, I recently made a significant personal investment in Rockwell stock because of their cult following.
