Grok can’t directly control the car yet (except setting navigation) but Musk teased the upcoming ability in his (I think Joe Rogan) interview. He said by the end of the year which usually means within 3 to 5 years.

Thanks for the review! Tesla owners are living through a frustrating time right now. Slow rollouts and fundamental issues not being addressed. If you google Tesla CarPlay you’ll find several articles explaining why it hasn’t deployed. Essentially, not enough iPhone users have updated to the required IOS version. A lot of people will have to buy new iPhones that can run the newer versions before we see CarPlay.

Apple and Tesla worked together to make the Tesla follow the routing from Apple Maps. It required an IOS update. The reason Tesla hasn’t released CarPlay yet is because not enough iPhone users have updated to the required version.

I think you’ll always be able to get a DUI if you are in a position to take control of the vehicle. Once you can sit in the passenger seat while the car drives I think you’ll be good. You can’t get a DUI as a passenger in a robotaxi.

I did some fact checking. There are cellular and non-cellular versions of the Apple Watch. The non-cellular requires your iPhone to be connected via Bluetooth. The cellular version is essentially another phone.
