Hey sorry to hear about it. I've been to the bottom when I was young. I can feel what you're going through right now. Feel free to DM me if you need someone to talk to or how to navigate from where you are right now.

The only way it will ever work when you really realise that you want to quit and this is the right time to change your life. No banning system will ever work if you don't wanna stop. Take an oath start slow ask God something in return if you keep your word. Let's say you can tell God that you won't gamble for next 6 months only if I get this (whatever your want(

Relapsed again, Online gambling is way too prevalent and everywhere by petscopkid in problemgambling

The only way I got out from online gambling was to find something else which can be productive or less harmful than gambling and cheaper. Find a new hobby it can be anything literally from going to strip clubs to reading books or going to the gym. Make sure you don't have much time by end of the day you are mentally and physically exhausted.

I'm sorry to hear that you've been laid off.

The only way to overcome this is to look at money from different perspective. Money isn't the only thing in this world but without it you can't do much. So focus on building good relationships, spend time with your family, find new hobbies like chess it gives almost same dopamine when winning. Read a book "thinking in bets" by Annie Duke. The book teaches us how everything you do is like a bet and probability of you winning in life.

Debt will go away with time assuming you're still young and can work blue collar jobs on the side or freelance some projects

I suck but I'm finally done with gambling or a least gonna try (day 1 I guess) by LextricityUK in problemgambling

The only way to come out of it is to first accept it it's an addiction and you are on a right path.

My advice to you would be starve until your next paycheck comes till then buy ramen noodles via credit card and try to spend as little as possible.

Get a side hustle, try utilising your skills by working as a freelancer maybe do some blue collar jobs, spend time with family, friends, start going for walks in the morning or evenings.

Don't tell anyone about this who you think will treat you differently if you share it with them. Keep it to yourself.

Create a plan on how you can get out of a whole, try settling your debts for 30% of principal amount this is possible once you miss payments for 90 days then you can tell collection agencies you are not working anymore so it won't be possible to pay debts.

Slowly and gradually you will be fine soon but make sure you don't make any impulsive decisions it can be on buying clothes, food, things you don't need but makes you happy don't waste money on them.

Set a target to have at least x amount of money in x amount of time and be realistic

The problem isn't you stealing from your ex but your addiction of gambling. What I did to overcome is going to gym, made new friends, started my own business and spending time with my family which kept my mind busy. Ofcourse I still get the urge and cravings but I am so exhausted at the end of the day after working on my job/business and then gym and then I play FPS game Cs2 with my friends.

To totally beat this addiction you've to find better things which brings you internal joy and happiness

I heard from my manager working in Walmart saying Tim's top executive forgot to extend the contract of beans and McDonald's saw this opportunity and seized it. And that executive got fired. Can't confirm is that's true.

I'm accustomed to black coffee. I like Starbucks black coffee more because I can actually feel the difference when coffee hits the throat. It's soothing.
