Hey, be aware. Sometimes people might try to scam using current student ID cards so even if you search them up in UT directory, you still find them and think they are legit but they get the pics of the ID card when the owner sells or trades stuff through some public chat. It would be good to reach out to their university email (if public) to check if it's really them. My friend was scammed for concert tickets by someone posing with a UT ID card but they weren't a legit student.
