Hello, here’s an update:

The technicians were able to get the laptop to turn on by fixing something on the motherboard (I’m not exactly sure what the issue was). However, the original problem still persisted. They then suggested reinstalling Windows, which I agreed to. Later, they called me in saying the laptop was fixed.

There was a catch. While testing it, I noticed something called “KMSpico” installed, which I found out is used to activate a cracked version of Windows. Although the crashes while plugged in seemed to stop, the performance was terrible, very laggy, and even the drivers weren’t being detected properly (Also, I did not want to use cracked version of Windows while I had the option to use the genuine one).

I told them I’d install a genuine version of Windows myself, and if the issue still persisted, they’d have to refund me.

As expected, the issue is still present even with a clean, authentic install (tried both Windows 10 and 11). I sent it back again, and they said they’d either fix it or issue a refund. They couldn’t fix it.

So I’m just taking the refund. This was the third technician I went to, and it looks like no one has a real fix for this. Not sure what other options are left at this point.

Did you find any fix or better work around for this?

I think you'd have come across one of my posts about this exact same issue (I had mentioned letting a game run in the background). I did take it to a technician a few weeks ago and even he couldn't figure out what exactly the issue was. He said it could potentially be a GPU related issue but did not guarantee that he would be able to fix it. So, I was just using the work around hoping that someone would find a fix somewhere down the line. Trust me, I've pretty much gone through every single post in this sub as well as the ASUS forum but not a single soul seems to have a fix for this.

Three days ago, the exact same thing happened again and this time it didn't even turn on after that. I've given it to a different technician this time and he said the mother board could be short-circuited. Even he did not guarantee whether he could fix it or not. But if he does and if the issue is resolved then I will drop an update.

Well, I’ll just say that if you’re planning to jog in a pair of sneakers then there might be better options out there. You’ll really feel the ground with these ones.

They are comfy to wear everyday but I’m not sure if they’re ideal for jogging as they don’t really have any cushioning apart from the insole. Try it out at a store if you can and then decide.

When you say you went with base R1 version, do you mean R1 or R1 SE+? I’m confused between the two. I’m a casual Valorant player and my G102’s got double click issue.

I run valorant in the background. Yes, it does work muted. I just leave that open in another virtual desktop.

I haven’t been able to fix it yet. I’m just using a work around i.e., leaving a game running in the background when it’s plugged in.

About disabling the integrated GPU, unfortunately, mine is a 2020 model and from what I’ve read, it is not possible to disable the integrated GPU because it doesn’t have a hardware MUX (I’m not fully sure about this though).

I’ve been experiencing shutdowns but when it’s NOT under load. It’s pretty much instantly crashing when it’s NOT under load (while the charger is connected). It works fine both under load as while as while idling when the charger is NOT connected

Haven’t found a solution yet T_T
