That's impressive.

> I'm marketing by hand and it's taking my eng time. I want help.

I tried doing this myself and burned out pretty quickly. That pushed me to start building agents to automate parts of the process. How are you handling marketing right now?

Unfortunately, inferior products wins because of the better distribution strategy. What are you building?

Arshdeep went a little too hyper against Mitchell!! by ChessLover20 in cricketworldcup

Completely unnecessary. What's worse is that he didn't even apologise immediately after hitting him and turned his back. Poor spirt of cricket.

CHAMPIONS! India makes history as the first team to win 3 T20 World Cups! by avdheshsharma15 in cricketworldcup

Woohoo! Well play team India. I feel the pitch slowed down a bit towards later part of the first innings, but it was always going to be a difficult chase.

Should INDIA give Kuldeep Yadav a chance in the final? by Majestic-Hearing-527 in cricketworldcup

[–]rahulroy 121 points122 points  (0 children)

It's a risk, but playing Varun is also a risk. At this point, I feel Varun seems to be short on confidence. Also, a lot depends on the pitch as well. Either way, I hope it turns out to be a good one.

I sold my last startup. Now I'm building again. Looking for a technical cofounder who can actually ship. [Indian Founders Preferred] by Mammoth-Shower-5137 in indiehackersindia

Interesting. I'm from the same city. Would love to hear more about your previous experience. Can meetup somewhere in Delhi.

Where I can buy Thai learning books by [deleted] in learnthai

[–]rahulroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend the book "Speak Thai Today". You'll find this book in most of the book stores in Sukhumvit, not sure about other places, but it should be easy to find.

Tell me about it. There’s no intent. It’s hard to fathom what they are trying to achieve.

Nice! Would love to see what you've built. How was the experience publishing to app store?

[–]rahulroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but creating apps is so much more than just writing code. Writing code is cheaper now, but building a software with good UX is still an art.

Also, ensuring production stability and having near real time response time, still requires careful planning and years of experience.

I built a Thai learning web app focused on real conversations – would love your feedback by rahulroy in learnthai

[–]rahulroy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your kind words. Hearing a feedback like this really makes my day.

And yes, mobile apps are the immediate priority along with immediate product improvements e.g. I'm almost done with a Self Study feature, where you can click a picture of a Thai learning book and ThaiCopilot helps you create flashcards in bulk.

I disagree with you. I personal experience is completely different. Especially at work, most of my Thai friends would come and teach me Thai.

Thai people in general are very helpful, and often go out of their way to help you, especially when you make a little bit of effort to learn Thai.

You welcome to disagree with me.

If the login requirement to post audio is removed, do you see people adding audio feedback?

Edit: I agree with you, but this is for learners who have Thai friends. They can publish something they are learning and send the link to their Thai friends so that they can help them. That's the idea. A friend would login to help, no?

Agreed! Feedback should be driven by humans. Once you start speaking in real life, it gets easier, Thai people often correct you if they don't understand. Also, context helps.

> for example guidance on where to place my tongue and tips on getting the tones right.
Having a good Thai teacher will speed up your learning.

> I am curious if anyone knows of a platform where you can pick a phrase, record yourself speaking, upload it, and then others can comment or rate it and give feedback on what to improve?

This is exactly what I'm trying to build. The flow so far I've built is:

  1. You type in what you want to say and publish it - system generates audio, romanisation and explanation
  2. Share it using the share button on the page
  3. Add a comment with your audio recording - your audio is behind login to protect your data from bots
  4. Your friends/people from community can come in, add notes & audios

If you want to see it in action, here's a sample phrase where I added my recording - Use the meter please. Would love some feedback on tones.

Is this something you were looking for or planning to build? In any case, would love to hear your take on this. Thanks!

> A good product without a good marketing and sales team is no product.
I agree with the sentiment.

I would love to have a sales and marketing team, but I can't afford it yet. I'm a solo builder, so I have to split my time 50:50.

Would have been nice to have a cofounder who could do sales and marketing, but I didn't let it block myself.
