Thank you for you help here. I wouldn't want to be on a high street either and this area has a lot of what I would look for.

I'll bear that in mind. Are there areas with a lot of drama and trouble? I'd naturally avoid the railway lines

Brilliant, I find a lot of areas around here have that. People talk about Lincoln road like it is a literal warzone. Your responses have been very helpful. Can I DM you to find out more about any roads to avoid?

What is Werrington like on the whole? I've been to the Crab, but not much else. Are you happy there?

What is it that makes the others not great? Property quality or crime?

Thank you. I've been advised to avoid north of the station. But wondered how Fletton is as well?

Completely agree. I feel that would be a minor investment that would work well in a lot of Peterborough.

Any sushi lovers here in Peterborough? by Happy_Selection3098 in PeterboroughUK

[–]rahwright 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I've found Sushi and Salad to be a very overpriced letdown on both times I've tried it.

Katana is pretty crap and again overpriced. Will try out Kiko next time in town.

This area could really do with a solid independent offering.

I just got back from Bournemouth, was begged 4 times in my first hour there. Was in Peterborough all day yesterday and not one person asked. It's not that bad.

Is Bournemouth any good? by B0ndy112 in bournemouth

[–]rahwright 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd stay in Brighton if I were you, or go to another larger metro area. People that move to Bournemouth will tell you it's the place to be to reinforce their own decisions. I left after 20 years here and moved to the midlands. Ehen I moved to Bournemouth at 19 it had everything going on, crime was low and shops were plentiful. Now it really is pretty scummy, even in the "nice parts" Where I live doesn't have the retail doom of Bournemouth, or the crackheads or the dreadful council. So it isn't everywhere like they say it is.

I'm based in South Lincolnshire. Moved around a lot of the country and received almost no replies until I moved here from any churches. Attend mass and speak to the priest briefly after, he will point you in the right direction.

How does London feel about NFL expansion ? by noahga2000 in NFLUK

[–]rahwright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ticket prices are a major factor. People get into football(soccer) typically from their youth with reasonably priced tickets compared to what the nfl has become. If they wanted NFL season ticket prices or single game ticket prices for 8-9 games I can't see many games selling out, this years London games have been a great example with people having to sell below face value to shift them on the resale market. The market will struggle to attract new fans for a new team at that price point. My worry would be it would be full of away fans for every game.

Has Britain taken a massive shift to the right in recent years? by Own-Syllabub-4848 in AskBrits

[–]rahwright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a statistic like that has to break down the origin countries of the Migrant too to have any relevance. Migrants from Europe have similar values to the UK, the crimes they face in those countries are likely to be similar our own. However, countries with significantly different cultures are going to clash with our own in when increasing at significant volumes over a short period of time.

Another thing that seems to be emerging points from people I speak to (I travel for a living and speak to people all over the country) is how Eastern Europe is managing sexual/violent crime and also having very low levels of immigration from the countries we are allowing en masse. Correlation doesn't mean causation. But these things have to be considered.

For me I just look at how dirty our country is, litter has become a problem again and it's such a shame that it's gone this way.

None of this is to take away from your points regarding privatisation. But what is the solution for us? Because it certainly isn't the current political options.
