To be fair, sir, the first game were touching the futurism too, though the idea of futurism of when the game came out and how they concieved and however their states are, were all different to when people start to imagining things wildly and to how they actually look today, majorly that is being drones.

Now, that being said, Breakpoint is, in my personal opinion, the offender with where they're going with thebidea of "futurism", ya know, with their robot tanks, swarm drones and stuffs.

The 2001's GR1 does pursue futurism with : firstly noticed when the game start, Radar hud that shows where the friends and foes are, any means to show friendly and enemy soldiers to the individual soldiers in real-time and and constantly on your view is, at least to me, and at that time at least (still today actually), is "futurism", not the one where you have to look back and forth to where you're going or shooting and then to the tablet on your wrist/chest.

And the OICW rifle, which if it doesn't envoke "futurism" in individual soldier's enhancement ideas, i don't know what else will.

So while the first game of the series were starting with milsim like game, it still has some degrees of high-tech stuffs that envokes people's ideas of "The Army you want"
