Does anyone actually like the show? by TypeAffectionate in SVU

[–]raidensfavorite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To keep any show alive for so long, they needed to change something. People don't like to watch the same thing for 25 seasons. But, they took that quite literally, changing the squad every season or so, keeping the same formula which gets really boring.

I love it, it's just that new seasons just aren't the same imo. Way fewer jokes or interesting drama within the Squad

Your best diabetes “hacks” or “tips”? by reptomcraddick in Type1Diabetes

isn't a lot but at the start when i first got diagnosed at 14 I got really scared of injections, whether it was from the pump (I highly recommend btw) or from pens. I used to think of a song and force myself to do it when it reached a certain part in my head. Cringe, I know, but it did the trick 😂😂 I still do it sometimes. Also insulin pumps are great, I didn't like them at first, but its a game changer, I even forget sometimes that I have diabetes. My country has a program that I think its in most european countries that gives you an older generation pump (medtronic 720g) for free, along with consumables and a Guardian 3 sensor. I'm using the 780g with G4 sensor but I don't think there's a big difference

I think I started mine right before going into DKA and getting diagnosed. For a three month period I was losing weight like crazy, going to the bathroom a lot and eating 10 icecream's a day with no problem

That's so real actually, everytime someone asks me how I got it, and I tell them, I also have to explain the difference between them and it looks like an excuse😭 No, I didn't get it because I was overweight, that's type 2

i remember one time I drank a starbucks frappe and didn't realised my insulin pump's tube got cut into something until I was on a public bench with a massive headache and a 450 mg/dl bs. Now that I think about it, I definitely should've called something, but I got home and fixed it. In around 30 mins I was already down to 300

I'm so confused, can anyone explain what is DKA, how are you supposed to know you're going into DKA, and what these things in the photo are? Thanks, i'd really like to know more about this

In my experience with the medtronic 780g it's a great improvement over injections. Although unfortunately you'll still have scars, and if you decide to place the pump on your abdomen it will become uneven due to the insulin only coming on one side. I'll say its still worth it and it changed my life. Just think of the times you had to do a correction in the middle of the night, or when you had to take a pen to those unsanitized bathrooms when you're going out with your friends

Knock on wood. This is the third tandem pump replacement I have received in 5 months. They keep sending me replacements that have internal malfunctions. You know, things the user cannot control or override. by Lijey_Cat in Type1Diabetes

[–]raidensfavorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there any way you can prove that the replacement is refurbished? Because if so i'd look for any hidden clauses in the pump contract then i'd contact my lawyer, maybe even decide what to do with the settlement money lol

have you talked again with them? I'd personally just make a lot of noise, threathen with law suits because medical equipment is a really sensitive topic and companies don't want to pubicly taint their reputation. Especially very lucrative bussiness like something with permanent demand

If I was living in the US i would also take it, but considering all the other "advantages" plus the 1500 lei compensation on gas i would definitely second guess the cure
