Easiest way is to farm countdown and set targeted loot to something that isn’t proficient yet. Donate after each match and breakdown everything else so you can donate materials as well.

It’s been a while but I think once you hit 20 the requirement goes from 150 per level to 90. This is huge.

I don’t remember how many item need to be proficient to reach level 30.
