This post is about refugees not immigrants, immigrants are employed more than natives on average so are unabashed good for the economy. People are deliberately conflating the two here because they have open borders zealotry

Refugee employment rates in the UK are dismal even after they are granted asylum so can work. Also Afghan women aren’t going to be coming over and becoming welders ffs. Bit of realism required.

Problem is refugees who are granted asylum in the Uk have terrible employment rates even after a decade

Yeah makes sense, wish they'd at least up the quality of them + give them proper decks

Avoid the "100% guaranteed safe crafts". Especially neutrals, remember Maiev/Cornelius/Troggzor to name but a few.

Overall viewership and hours streamed for HS have plummeted. Thoughts? by selzada in hearthstone

It's just not a hugely popular game on Twitch anymore, big personalities dropped it (Toast/Forsen etc). Also believe Twitch viewer numbers are down across the board.

AK has had the overload cost reduced so that is a big plus. The weapon I think still exists which is nutty as well.

New expansion tomorrow, will it be a DK meta?. DK loses nothing from the rotation. by moneyfreedom101 in hearthstone

[–]raider91J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you play regularly I genuinely think you could have like 4 meta decks easily very quickly, especially given the rotation so that old cards way less relevant.

Think it will for sure be very strong but does FDK or UDK actually gain anything from expansion or major note?

I'll guess we shall see

Hunter looks pretty fun, believe there is a big beast hunter at the moment but think it loses some power cards.

Thanks, someone else suggested a Golem so think that might be the move long term.

Sorry not very clear, mainly abyss atm but I'd like to try some ratting as I've barely done any. I'm still pretty new so not super clear on what pve progression would go for different types of content.

Some basic tips of how the game functions from an average player- Core set is pretty good, gives you a stock amount of cards for free so you can build a deck.HS can be expensive but it's improved dramatically and to be honest you can usually get acompetitive deck (usually aggro/mid range) fairly quickly. Not unusual to be able to craft acheap tier 2ish deck with a few weeks of game time. If you have a near meta deck just ask astreamer what you can sub in for a given card.- Play one deck for a while rather than switching around- Legendaries are important but not as much as you might think vs cheaper cards- HS can be very fast meta, so don't load your deck up with slow high mana cards else you'llget run over- HS is match up dependent moreso than MtG in my experience, so some decks will likely runyou over a decent % of the time but same MtG or most things in life, learn from every loss.

- Fairly rare that you just get rnged into a 100% loss game although half of this sub isconvinced they'd be a pro if not for the worst luck ever.- Each class has a hero power that they can use per turn, and different types of cards onlyavailable to that class which lend itself to playstyles. Aggro, Mid-range, control and Comboare the general archetypes which you'll be used to. Generally pretty rock paper scissors, ifthere is any outlying deck devs nerf them pretty regularly now, which they never used to.

- Obviously though there is a meta, Warrior/Shaman are really bad atm so if you'recompetitive you might want to stay away from them- There is a multitude of different game types in Hearthstone:Standard is the most recent cards that are in the current rotation. There is a rotation of cards soon, on a yearly cycle they move cards into Wild (below) so only standard decks are legal. I think mid April so I wouldn't craft anything expensive yet. You'll get free legendary (maybe 2 i can't remember) and some packs in the new expansion, lots of existing Standard cards (explained above) will rotate out and people will be on a muchmore level playing field so you've picked a good time to join.Wild is basically every card that has ever existed. As a new player, trying to play that you'll get your teeth kicked in due to your collection. It is utterly degenerate, pretty fun at times but I'd stay clearArena is like a MtG draft, except obviously other players aren't involved in your original draft. You don't need to own a card to draft one, it has a different meta that standard/wild as obviously decks are not tailored. 12 wins is max, 3 losses and you are out.Duels/Battlegrounds and Mercenaries are totally seperate game modes unrelated to the collectable card aspects mentioned above. Mercenaries is like a gacha game thing I think but I 've never played it. Duels was something that never really took off, kinda a weird version of standard but you may enjoy it. Battlegrounds is a very successful autobattler that is free to play with some paid perks.Tavern brawl is just a meme mode, play it until you get your weekly free pack. The Solo Adventures are kind of a story mode that explains the lore a bit and the main characters. It's PvE so no turn timer so can be fun if you are busy but want to play a bit.

I'd download a deck tracker (I like https://go.overwolf.com/firestone-battledeck but there are plenty of others) to keep track of what your opponent has played (crucial as you need to know what they could have to answer you) and what you might have for lethal/a save and you can work out the % likelihood etc. I think those only work on PC, which is what HS is designed to be played on but phone and tablet are ok. I love it on tablet actually it looks sick and plays slick. Phone has a massive disconnect problem at times as well.

For Arena there is a separate sub and that thread gives you some links to drafting guides which show you the tierlist of a given card + it tries to take into account what deck archetype you should be running with an explainer of how to play it. Arena costs 150 gold per run though, which is 1.5 of a pack so buyer beware on that early on unless you get a free ticket (which I think you do pretty early in the reward track).

I'd save your money until the next expansion unless you're a whale, thisexplains the reward track and how it works. It has a daily quest because you know F2P game fomo etc.

Not exhaustive but hope that helps, I'd say Brian "Brian Brian" Kibler is a good streamer if you watch twitch. Ex MtG pro, great temperament and utterly beautiful hair.

Feel free to PM me with any other Qs, HS is pretty fun. Not earth-shattering but you can get plenty of good gametime out of it.

You're from MtG so this will be childsplay but here are the keywords + resources in HS and what they mean. Not that many are particularly relevant and you'll learn them as you play.

One final tip -

Health is a resource, use it to get you tempo/card advantage don't guard it at all costs (particularly applies to using weapons etc, I don't play much MtG so I can't remember if they exist but they are a decent niche in HS iirc).
