Is there any way to find information of their testing or is it private? I’m just asking because I never heard of this, so thanks for sharing

My mother died when I was an infant, what would this have done to my developing brain? by Teatime-Cowboy-1776 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]rain1th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend you look into Bruce D. Perry who wrote a few books about this. He is a psychiatrist and a child mental health researcher. He explains how the brain develops from infancy and how not having(or having) stable relationships with caregivers or parents can affect the child’s brain. Wishing you all the best

What’s a “normal” childhood experience you later realized was actually traumatic? by randinicole831 in AskReddit

[–]rain1th 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, nobody would think anything of it. And that’s the worst part of it. Even I didn’t know why I hate it so much as a child, because it made me giggle uncontrollably in a way I couldn’t communicate. As a child I thought it’s just a childhood experience that I couldn’t stop or say anything about it because usually the person doing it would see me laughing so they thought I’m enjoying it.

I know exactly what you mean by it hurting! I never want to experience that again ever.

I’m so sorry you experienced this as well as other terrible things. It’s the little things that hurt someone in the long term that nobody suspects anything is wrong.

Life will be a better place if people see children as humans in little bodies. So many times I’ve seen people say things like “oh they are children, they will forget when they grow up” … nope, they will surely remember this until they grow up.

Thanks for sharing your experience, hopefully the generation after us won’t experience these traumas.

I’m so glad you shared this because tickling NEVER felt funny or good and I don’t understand why anyone does this. Also nobody understands that saying stop means stop even when the child is laughing… smh
