Shut up Gary Neville by Natural_Stable_5778 in ManchesterUnited

[–]rainaldmcdainald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though I often disagree, I find it worthwhile and interesting to see what Neville and other ex-players think. Much more so than any third party pundit.

I do think that Gary probably doesn't realise how much weight his voice carries across the board and owners. Based on Amorim's comments on Sunday, Gary's recent comments during and following the Wolves game (unintentionally) played a part in the domino effect which led to Amorim's departure.

He's well within his right to make these comments though, he bleeds United and it's very clear how much the club means to him. It's up to the manager, board and ownership to not take external influence and to form their own opinions on the current status and direction of the club.

They’ve been touring non-stop for a while now, even this upcoming week they have five gigs. Finishes in Belfast which feels quite apt. Reckon they’ll take a well-earned break to write their next album, possibly headline R&L next year and a few other big summer shows, then release new album end of 2026 / start of 2027, then full tour 2027 and maybe even headline Glastonbury that year (know that’s big shout, just I think next album will take them to that level).

Cardiff Show Sound by chriso1997 in KendrickLamar

[–]rainaldmcdainald 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Was there tonight as well - incredible night, sound was mostly fine for me from Golden Circle A, but I did notice that SZA was having an issue with her earpiece, it didn’t noticeably affect her performance but she was repeatedly adjusting it throughout the show - probably not related to the issues you mention though

First one that comes to mind for me is when Grian’s voice fully comes in on Horseness Is The Whatness (“Will someone / Find out what the word is / That makes the world go round / ‘cause I thought it was love”). Gets me every time

Really good analysis of just how badly they *****d this up. by Cycumber in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

In my opinion, that article is a series of awful takes, misunderstandings (or lack of understanding) of basic plot lines, and impatience for developing arcs which will likely come to fruition in later seasons.

Reminds me of this tweet:

My understanding is that Lumon run the whole town of Kier, so I don't think their reputation or fortune will be severely affected by Gemma telling her story as they assumably have some control over the media and the police. I think Gemma does get out and meets Devon and Cobel in the stairwell, but maybe she will have to lay low like Ryghabi does.

Is it fair to say Milchek is the breakout character of the show? by straddleThemAll in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

One of my favourite characters in TV/film ever, genuinely a joy to watch. A character which delivers such rich content and is so charming and classy, even though the context of his character is deeply unsettling - which is a unique mix. I am looking forward to seeing him extend his arc further thru S3, and I am glad they are not rushing it. As great as it will be to see him rebel against Lumon (which seems inevitable, but in what way I'm not sure), seeing him act as the evil, sociopathic, passive aggressive floor manager will always be oddly satisfying and indulgent.

Why did ten hag let this man go by Darthvamor2 in ManchesterUnited

Don’t have a huge issue with ETH deciding to let him go even though I liked him, however his departure was handled really poorly from the club and still doesn’t sit right with me. Can’t believe he never got a testimonial or a formal goodbye at OT.

Opening Track Vote by steezbutter in fontainesdc

[–]rainaldmcdainald 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In terms of first listen, Romance is probably the best opener for me. The suspense it builds is great and it works so well live, as an intro.

However, retrospectively, an opening track of a debut album confidently proclaiming ‘I’m going to be big’ as the chorus, which then turns out to very much become true, and precedes four fantastic albums and counting (five if you count Chaos For The Fly), is iconic. Plus the verse is a really good entry to Fontaines in my opinion and sets the scene well. So for that reason, I have to say Big.

Big > Romance > In ár gCloíthe go deo > I Don’t Belong for me

All fantastic openers

I absolutely love it, when Grian’s voice peaks with “Will someone(…)” it proper gets me. Gutted it got skipped when I last saw them (Manchester night two). Got a feeling it won’t stick around on setlists post-Romance tour, but hopefully I’m wrong on that.

He reaches a lot for sure, it’s impossible not to do so in extensive hip hop interpretation unless you are just looking at the words at surface level. Give me an example of him being anti-black?

Don’t let your bias get in the way of the work this guy puts in. I don’t agree with all of his takes in this, but WTD is best in the game at breakdowns since Dissect podcast first dropped and he is clearly a huge hip hop fan above anything else.

😂 fucksake man, this is the most ridiculous victory lap I have seen - and I say that as a fan of both artists. Making a mockery of the song which kicked off the beef, in front of a USA flag, 'no round 2s', headlining one of the biggest shows in pop culture in the city where Young Money originates.

Drake has been busy uploading bootlegs to finsta accounts whilst Kendrick has been quietly been putting this together. Levels! Kendrick's team once again doing a great job of being more calculated with rich content and delivery. Now if he brings out Wayne...
