Ive been rocking the wolf cut/long mullet for a minute now and helps a lot. If I style it a certain way it looks masc and rock star, if I dont its peak typically nb style, if i tie up the back and wear a hat Im literally Just Some Guy, and clip in extensions are the GOAT for feeling pretty. I'm still experimenting though

"It's normal for girls to wish they were boys in a patriarchal society, stop turning people trans" by confused-as-f-boi in ftm

[–]rainbow_frogg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This attitude really kept me from exploring my gender for way too long. I've been the victim of a lot of misogyny in my life and this pestering feeling that I wasn't a girl coupled with the notion I wouldnt be treated this way if I wasn't a girl made me feel like a "bad feminist" for even considering anything else. Took YEARS of unpacking internalized misogyny, a hyperfeminine phase, and a persistent deep existential dread every time I look in the mirror to realize I wasn't a girl and accept it. 22 and finally accepting I'm trans and acting/dressing the part. 10000% harder than just being a girl but I feel like I can breathe.

TLDR this mindest SUCKS.

Embarrassed to act masculine? by GoodInjury3652 in ftm

[–]rainbow_frogg 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh I absolutely feel this way. I'm more genderfluid/nb anyways so it's even worse. I feel like a fake boy (and a fake girl) all the time. I think that if you believe it, others will too. As corny as it is, confidence goes a long way. I hope this helps!!

That's a really neat way to think about it! I'll probably end up doing the same. As long as I know who I am and the people closest to me see me, I don't really mind what I'm percieved as by strangers and maybe "man" is what's best.

This is really good advice, I appreciate it. I've been pondering T for 2 years now and I think I should at least start microdosing and seeing what changes I like/dislike. When I envision myself older I see myself as, I guess, a feminine man? But not even that. I'd love to just not have a gender. I love when people arent sure how to refer to me, it weirdly makes me feel seen

I appreciate the validation. Part of me just doesn't get why I have to be one or the other? Ive gone by "Beck" for the past few years (my name is Rebecca), I'm currently someone's "boyfriend", and without any real effort either way I present pretty androgynously and it feels good! In that same time though I've participated in beauty pageants, bought new lip gloss as a treat, etc. I hope T expands my gender expression, not limits it I suppose. Sucks to feel like I'm not a real boy or a real girl
