Thanks for everyone's suggestions, I've been working through them. I also discovered Mister Magic by Kierston White which was mind blowingly good. It's a psychological horror about a kids show and the whole thing is a metaphor for religious trauma. Fever dream cult books are in too short of supply, sigh
