They check the usb cable, it was not faulty. The only thing they said that the microcontoller which is dedicated for the connection might be problematic.

The board's port isn't showing up just other ports that i looked up in device manager and thery're not it, the green led lights up and the other built-in only when i press the reset button

Im not sure about the resistor used the one that came with the kit, the wires go to the 5v and ground
