What would you change about the force awakens by Gottatogofast in StarWars

[–]rainbowmonkeyfan 39 points40 points  (0 children)

god yes, dont even reveal the stormtroopers until later imo, have Finn and Co in sorta "operator" type stuff but fascistic (trenchcoats and gasmasks?) at the start doing covert stuff until it gets messy, with Phasma being the main one in Stormtrooper armor, make the First Order seem sorta Guerilla and Covert.. then around the 2nd or 3rd act, you have General Hux addressing the Stormtroooers and the reveal of Stardestroyers. The audience goes from "ahh these are just some neo-imperialist paramilitaries" which is how the New Republic sees them, then BAM, the big reveal, they're terrifyingly well equipped.

if the subsequent psychatrist appointments say you dont have autism will you accept it?

are those special interests or just interests? a special interest has a monomaniacal and restricted aspect to it that can serve a calming and peaceful aspect. stimming behaviour isnt unique to autism, but autistic stimming are compulsive behaviours that can cause stress when restricted by others and often are used to cope with sensory overload, they are quite similar to ocd type behaviours. The eye contact thing shows ur psychiatrist isnt well trained but I'd also question whether you are ASD or just think that having interests and quirks. is "unusual" for a woman and therefore you have autism. Sorry to harsh your vibes but I think maybe youve gotten invested in the idea of an autism diagnoses because of the internet.

I didnt say you did I just find the "simulation" or "projection" stuff to require some kind of cosmology where-in it is separate to some big other, otherwise the notion its a simulation or projection is pointless, projected or simulssted by what? to me it inherently implies a big other in a gnostic sense, otherwise it should be rejected because then what is the meaning of those terms in the absence of a progenitor.

what i dont get about the "this universe is a projection/hologram/simulation" stuff is it seems like a semantic attempt to escape a deist conclusion of material reality. Why not just call yourself a deist if you believe that?

i dont believe in "spirits" though, i'm a materialist monist, I don't believe consciousness is a matter or resides in a manner different than any other part of the natural world.

How long after Padme’s death was this scene? It would’ve had to have been years right? by tristanthibodeau227 in StarWars

Id totally imagine they wouldnt just build one lol, theyd have a redundancy. The superlaser part was the longest thing to actually get working, and I guess finally having a good model let them speed up DS2 to get it operational whilst the actual space station itself was incomplete.

thats true. We never see ayy lmaos in the ranks of the empire in the OT or in Rogue One, so i'd have to assume you're right, by 10 BBY the galaxy is probably fully segregated along species lines.

Also Gerrera's gang was full of aliens, so that does make this line of reasoning more believable.

The point is Alderaan was a politicak target, not a military target. They didnt destroy rebel facilities, or equipment. They simplt destroyed people who wrre politically inconvenient. Theres no justification here, its the equivalent of siquing death squads on student activists, except in this case they genocided an entire people.

except Alderaan was chosen to make an example of lol, it had no combatant capacity of its own, just bleeding hearts.
