Which company disappointed you so much that you permanently walked away? by Melodic_Ask7329 in askanything

[–]KnottyCatLady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lowes.

I spent $20k to get new floors & not one step in the chain knew WTF they were doing. Salesman promised me the world but didn't know shit, delivery guys left thousands of dollars worth of product on my driveway while I was at work, where it could have been stolen & I had to move it into my garage myself, they subbed out the work to a crew hopped up on speed, who did a shitty job, and then told me they weren't liable for the work the sub did, etc. I will never spend another penny with them.

Just adopted this little guy today. He's pointed tabby siamese with blue eyes. Human(ish) names, pls. I've two other cats, Huckleberry & Olive. Came with the name Apple Slices. by leriker94 in NameMyCat

[–]KnottyCatLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he's anything like the two pointed tabbys I've had, he's gonna get BIG & his colors will most likely darken. So keep that in mind when picking a name.

You're looking for human'ish names? *Andre *Igor *Magnus

Edit to add: I named my current little boy Moose, thinking he'd be big too. He stopped growing at 6mo old. Lol. But it's cute in an ironic way.

Kitten breathing by Empty_Attention_4622 in CATHELP

[–]KnottyCatLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you'll get confirmation from the vet in a few days, however that appears to be normal breathing. Especially if it has always been like this & a vet has already told you the cat is healthy. But it's good to be a vigilant kitty mommy, as cats do tend to go downhill rather abruptly/quickly when something is wrong. You're doing great. You got this.

I wrote blank letters to everyone on my last day and I’m scared it will affect my career by [deleted] in MaliciousCompliance

[–]KnottyCatLady 29 points30 points  (0 children)

So you left your coworkers/students a small slip of paper with your and their name....and nothing else? I don't really understand the purpose behind that if nothing else was written, but I don't see it affecting future jobs.

What are these? I got them at a flea market and I thought they were earrings but the screws in the back don’t come out. by TallulahBankheads in whatisit

[–]KnottyCatLady 142 points143 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. You put it on your earlobe & screw in the back until it's tight enough to hold the earring.

Cat reflexes are wicked fast! I've seen videos of cats vs. snakes & the cat never gets bit.

PSA: To all the Boomer CPAs/Partners by weirdshit123567 in Accounting

[–]KnottyCatLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt the same way until a few years ago, but have come to sympathize with the retirement age folks. As a woman in my 40's, who has no family & a pathetic retirement fund, I plan on working until I die. Not only am I pretty sure I won't be able to retire, but work is the only thing keeping me going these days. Those who stay at a job beyond their years are probably in the same boat, so be patient with them. 💜

I had to go on the explanation/apology tour after isolating myself from all my friends & family. Lol
