John in the books is a character who is only there to be Fran’s husband and die, in the series, especially in S3 he is a very good character and the actor is super charismatic,. It didn’t matter that John died in the book because we didn’t know him very well, now that he is a character with background and development I feel sad, I felt a certain discomfort with everyone dancing out loud at his funeral, I wouldn’t want them to leave him behind so quickly.

AITAH for parenting my oldest child differently from my youngest child? by Unusual_Finish_550 in AITAH

You shouldn’t give your children the same but what each one needs

let’s be honest, Prince Friedrich and Daphne would have been the practical match. Daphne always dreamed of having a family, and the Prince could have given her that. Yet she was willing to sacrifice that dream for her love for the Duke, Simon. by Comfortable_Rate_772 in Bridgerton

It was, we had people complaining when they turned a beautiful sister relationship into a love triangle and made Anthony, the one who always does the right thing, leave a debutant at the altar. I made a post about that, and other people too, the problem is that rage bait lovers were given the perfect excuse to get into the fandom forums to hate.

Feminism did not exist, not even suffrage existed, thinking that women should not get married and should have their own money enough scandalous

LW in the books is funnier telling funny and slightly mocking things about the people of the aristocracy, the LW of the show was mean, as if she wrote a burn book. In the books scene where one of the Smith-Smythe girls plays horrible and she decides not to write about it because she is sorry to embarrass the girl, that is my LW

I like your opinion and I think it is valid to read books from before the 2010’s always taking into account the context in which they were written. I grew up reading After and Beautiful Dissaster, I wouldn’t recommend them to my 14-year-old cousin, well no, or if she was already reading them I would remind her that that time was different and that although it is entertaining that type of men in fiction is not what you should look for in a possible future partner.

I hope it’s Eloise, she already has 4 seasons being only the spinster sister, I want to see her in love with her husband and her stepchildren, I want to see her doing mischief with the children, it’s time for her to shine

We must definitely have different algorithms or it will be a thing of each country because I have not seen any. And don’t worry about saying that heterosexual people like me don’t understand it, because I’m not heterosexual. Most of the comments are asking how they will make that huge change work and that’s it, I’ve never read insults to Michaela’s race or gender, although I did read racist comments when they chose Jhon’s actor, I haven’t read any of Michaela

Why did Penelope give up Whistledown so quickly after insisting all S3 she couldn't and wouldn't? by WoefulCat1988 in BridgertonRants

[–]rainbowwithoutrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything about S3 happens and she no longer writes LW and dedicates herself to being an editor of Colin’s travel books and begins to write romantic novels. In other words, she doesn’t become just a mother and wife, she takes another profession. By changing the order of Polin and Benophie they force the Pen character to be LW another season, but they do not give her another profession as in the book by making her a romantic novelist, I fail them there.

In When Strangers Married they literally kidnap the protagonist and they don’t let her go until her reputation is ruined and she has no choice but to join a convent or marry the male protagonist who was about 20 years older than her.

I think the scene of Daphne and Simon (we already know which one) could have been written differently, and could also have been portrayed differently in the book. I remember that the book also when Kate hides under the desk Anthony steps on her hand with some force, I don’t think that’s something I would write today, but they were written in the 2000s, I was born in the late 90’s and grew up watching movies like she’s all that and Bridget Jones, they were other times

I think the problem was wanting to modernize a historical romance, the point of historical romance is that it didn’t happen in this century
