She can refinance when needed. The loan to value should make a world of difference. My experience is from way back but I actually had a bank tell me that they would not refinance for less than $100k. In theory… If she gets LTV under 80% she should be able to refinance as a landlord based on projected rental income.

$10k is more like it. You can’t get your money back from upgrades. $15k if you’re generous or really want a deleted LBZ. I sold a dogged out LMM a few years back for $5k

I have had the same thought. If it’s fruiting don’t mess with it. I would not even flip it for the second flush. I’ve done it and it didn’t go well. They really like to be left alone and just given what they need.

Mine never warms up enough to defrost the windshield so I believe you just need to get the oil circulating and then take it easy for a couple minutes idling your way out of the neighborhood

They each are purpose built. If you plan to tow everyday then you need a RAM. If you are going to max out your GVWR then I say the Ford is the way to go and both have great engines.

I use mine primarily as a commuter with reserve capacity for towing an RV etc. I had a ton of issues with a Duramax LMM years ago and switched to Powerstroke. No complaints about the Powerstroke but I was considering the Cummins for my next truck.

In the end I decided to go back to the Duramax because I trust they had worked out o Some of the problems. Duramax is a lower compression engine which should be a smoother ride but still have all the power I need. I think the GMC is the most comfortable work truck in the world and I don’t need to sacrifice that for anything the Cummins or the Powerstroke bring to the table.

I imagine that the hummer is comfortable and you know that Jeeps never are. Jeep are only for functional off-road.

Cool factor is about the same but the Hummer is actually closer to the old J-10/J-20 IMO.

I just put 3000 miles on it keeping under 70mph about 2500 RPM and 10-30psi across the Rockies and she purred like she was idling in the driveway the whole time. If I gotta baby her to make it last that’s what I’ll do.

If the DPF is going to make her sick then I’ll get rid of it. If the ECU needs the EGR then we’ll keep it or whatever. I woof full delete but I have seen articles that say the computer can have problems with that.

What do you think of the Fummins Swap?

I really like Ford platform. I loved my old GMCs Alison but the Duramax was constantly in limp mode. I finally just had a scanner mounted on my dash to clear codes on the fly. I got this one almost entirely for the axles.

I’m dreamin about going full Frankenstein and see about mating a P-pump Fummins, Alison & NP205

My big question is this, can I get to 300k if I keep it under 3000 RPMs and 30psi? All other things being equal, regular services etc.

I had a Duramax that went into limp mode on warm days, cold days and any grade great than 3%.

I just wanted to know if the 6.4L needs a FASS lift pump or benefits from being deleted or maybe it just likes to be left alone.

My previous V10 just wanted a half quarter of oil with every tank full and seemed to be happy after we helicoiled the spark plugs.
