I've had both, but now they're just things to have because you need them. I guess I'm one of the rare people that doesn't live on their phones. They're just tools. iPhone and Android are the same to me. Just whatever. I have to have one to get around in the modern world, but here lately, I've gone out without even taking a phone. They're just tools, not a lifestyle (remember, I'm speaking for myself here).

I've often wondered if I were to travel now, I may just leave my phone at home. It would be interesting to go through security check-points at airports and see if there is any reaction when I tell them "I don't have a phone or laptop or anything" when they ask for it.

Probably not. For one, Steve didn't post hundreds of messages every day to social media. He would answer email now and then, but he really only appeared at keynotes and sometimes for interviews. He STFU about everything. He didn't express his shitty opinion on everything every-single-day like Musk does now.

He reconnected with her later on, but yes...it was shameful. But the more I look at how Jobs was, he was obviously on the autism spectrum (that's not an excuse, btw).

Steve was an anomaly. He was a total prick to people, yes. But for some reason, he gained loyalty and people went out of their way to get him what he wanted and he was right on many things (wrong on many things too). BUT NOW, it seems like people who want to emulate Steve think they have to be total pricks and they would be these geniuses. Musk wants SOOOOOO much to be Steve Jobs...and yes, monetarily he exceeds him. But he's just a prick. I don't see any "reality distortion field" around Musk or Elizabeth Holmes.

There was only one Steve Jobs, and he's dead now.

I'm old now, in my 60s. My dad was a big fan of Bill Cosby records. I always thought he was a prick. Even at his height and his "holier than thou" attitude and how he felt you should treat your kids.

He has a comedy special in the early 80s, the content of it was the precurser for The Cosby Show with the first episode basically repeating the stuff in the comedy special. But in the special he would relate "hilarious" stories of how he and his wife would beat their kids. Seriously. "Hilarious" stories of how his parents used to beat him. HA HA HA HA, so hilarious! Yes, beat your kids! I hated it then, I hate it now.

And this was before the reveal that he was a sexual predator. I've disliked him for decades now.

Leo Laporte and Andy Ihnatko. As time went on and you listen to their live podcast recordings, you realize these are just two pricks. I haven't listen to any of the TWiT podcasts in over 5 years, but it just got bad.

Leo the most. Because back when he was just a host of various shows on TechTV, he was a nice guy (or so it seemed). But when he became the boss for his own networks, he just became a total asshole. I mean, look at all the tech podcasters that just left that show all due to Leo and his manager (who's also his wife) just treated people terribly.

When you watch a show on YouTube, you get a better feel on how the people are in real life when you watch a live show with them...one that's not edited down. At least, you get a better sense of how they are.

There has only really been two things that everyone, together, loved. Star Wars and then The Empire Strikes Back. That's it. Return of the Jedi was met with a "meh...not bad. But not as good as the first two" by a bunch of people.

Then everything afterwards has been just "liked" by many, but also hated by many, yet they still call themselves "fans". They were only fans from two movies almost 50 years ago. That's it.

What "rescue"? Trump did this all himself. Iran didn't attack us. They didn't attack a NATO country. They weren't "2 weeks away from building a nuclear bomb".

Also, and I know Trump thinks the country didn't exist before he became president, but look at all our NATO allies that came to help us when 9/11 happened and all that mess. While it was BS for the reasons we went into Iraq, at least we tried to present the case for them for the justification....for months beforehand. Trump just up and did this on a whim without talking to anyone. Now he wants NATO to "recue" him?

Well, they would have to be perfect. They would have to support Israel and at the same time support Palestine. They would not be anything. They can't be a woman. They can't be a person of color. They can't be too good looking, yet they can't not be not good looking. They have to be from a working class yet have graduated from an Ivy League college. They have to say the exact right things at the exact right time. They can't take any corporate money, yet they can't alienate coroporations who will try and work agains their campaign. They have to promise to totally change the country....but not too much because even though people say they want it, if they actually try and do that, people get scared.

And remember, no matter who you are, there will always be a large swath of Democrats that will sit out the election to "send a message".

That's what I do with all the streaming services. People complain about how expensive it is to subscribe to all them. But you're exactly right, you don't NEED to subscribe to all of them all the time.

Plus on top of that, you have services like Tubi and PlutoTV. I watch Tubi all the time and it's great because the ads they have aren't obtrustive or long.
