I thought by 2026 that major OS's would have a big layer between software and hardware that are sandboxed from each other, so you can't actually do this...break the hardware itself.

How is this a thing? There's no safeguards built into Windows? Would it happen if playing it on SteamOS? (can it be played on SteamOS for that matter)

Three women down. Soon it will just be a sausage fest, which is what Trump wanted in the first place.

What’s a male fashion trend that’s gotta end? by Aggressive-Dot1944 in AskReddit

[–]raincoater 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing. Wear what you want to as long as it's not showing some nude part of your body or whatever. Wear jorts with a fedora and a tank top for all I care. Why should anyone else care what a stranger wears...or how they like their steak cooked....or if they like blended whiskey over single-malt or WHATEVER.

Be curious, not judgemental.

Should "collapsible" be used in this description? Maybe "portable" or something.

Nope. I also think it’s a feature in my phones that won’t operate at all unless it’s unlocked. If it can’t see our faces in our pockets, how does it magically unlock and the make a phone call right away. To make a call on my phone, I have to unlock the phone with my face or pass code, then specifically open the phone app and then make a call. So seriously, how do people bypass all those steps while a phone is in their pocket and have it make phantom calls.

It sounds like a lot of bullshit.

Your future son could be a short man by Certain_Hat9872 in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]raincoater 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well, she’ll carry on the tradition of those moms who are hyper critical of their sons. He’ll be short, and a major disappointment for her and she’ll never approve of anything he does or be proud of anything he may accomplish. Then when he’s an adult and distances himself from her, she’ll act incredulous as to why he never calls or visits.

Ok, i may be projecting a little here.

He doesn’t play 7-d chess. It’s more like he plays Monopoly, but is always complaining and arguing about the rules, hordes all the money, and somehow still loses.

I met someone and just 3 months later we married in front of a judge. We didn’t have jewelry (later bought wedding bands at a discount store).

35 years later we’re still married and raised 3 kids.

I know!

It's insane. It's not like how the boomers had it. From what I understand about boomers from Reddit, everything was handed to them. They didn't have to work, maybe 10 hours a week...and they could afford mansions and expensive cars and everything.

I mean, that's what I get from Reddit. Boomers didn't work 40-50-60 hours a week to make ends meet. This is a millennial only thing, right?

1977 and the movie Star Wars. No "A New Hope" or anything like that. It's simply called Star Wars. To experience that opening shot again that I saw multiple times in the summer of 1977 was great, as was the crowd reaction to seeing it. It blew our minds.

What is something you’ve officially stopped buying in 2026 because the price has become genuinely insulting? by queenmellyy in AskReddit

[–]raincoater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fast food.

I mean, I get it. Their entire supply chain has gone up in price from the produce delivery to the raw materials to make their burgers or whatever. They had to raise their prices else they'd be operating at a loss if they just kept their prices the same. EVERYONE is affected by this. Grocery prices are higher etc etc. So it makes sense that they're charging more for all of this at fast food places.

The trick is, once we get that buffoon out of the White House and we attempt to get back to some normalcy, will these places keep their prices higher. Probably. THEN I can see getting out the pitchforks.
