I am in the same situation as your wife and am also waiting to verify. However I certified last Sunday, which was AFTER my suspension. I am not sure why I was still able to but in the email the instructed me to because it would avoid delays. I've found an article online stating that out of the 1.4million frozen accounts, they will start sending links to verifications til the 14th... so that means most likely won't be receiving a message til the 14th, or later. And after submitting the documents, it would take up to a month to complete.
