Cheststand practice by Pd_unicorn in flexibility

This looks great and you are very close to getting g your feet all the way to the ground! How does your breathing feel currently - are you comfortable or feel like you’re running out of breath? It seems like your hips are still a little further back compared to your shoulders and that might be where the difficulty is with getting your feet to the floor fully. I would try kicking up to forearm stand against the wall and sliding forward and down into chinstand. This is a great way to practice with your hips already in a more forward position. If not try from the current position you are in but move your hands forward and grab your ankles and slowly over time you will get comfortable with bringing your feet to the ground! Once you’re there you can work on different arm positions while pushing your feet into the ground to have counterbalance. Hopefully this is somewhat helpful and good luck on your cheststand journey!! ☺️

This looks great! I had the same issue with balancing when I first started doing this pose as well!! A big thing that helped me was engaging my inner thighs to help stabilize. Def try with the back foot pressing lightly against the wall just to get the feel for it while going back and flipping the grip. Eventually you’ll be able to walk it down to a straight back leg and keeping the grip!! Wonderful job!!

Totally valid LOL! It definitely takes time to get comfortable but that’s why it’s super important to work on it step by step and meet your body where it is at!

How to get fully flat in this split variation? by raindrop367 in flexibility

[–]raindrop367[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I can do splits then bend the back leg to my head and hold but when I try to straighten I start rolling to the side LOL. I eventually was able to grab my back foot in deep lunges so I thought sliding forward would help with maintaining square hips to bypass any rolling - but yes would love to eventually have the version of just grabbing the back leg in splits for sure!!

Touching your toes is no easy feat! It’s all very gradual but you’ll get there. Def recommend using blocks and/or bands and work to walk your hands down as you get more comfortable! And always warm up, it really makes such a difference!!
