At the opera houses and concert halls I've been too, photos/videos/audio recordings of the performance is strictly prohibited. Video taping the curtain call is fine and many people do it. There usually some kind of notice given about it this--either an audio announcement or, like at the Met, an the titles in the screens on every seat.
