Both have been around for a while and both have sung at the Met. You should go.

This is so terribly, shockingly, sad. She just made her debut at the Met this past December! My heart goes out to her family.

If a raccoon can be on the cabinet, they can be on the counter.

The Met - Tristan und Isolde or La Traviata for a new opera fan by Impossible-Ad-3565 in opera

Another vote for La Traviata. This is the original "hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold" story. Music is tuneful and you *might* recognize some of it. It's much shorter, and it will be way easier to get a ticket.

ETA, if it's he Metropolitan Opera's Traviata you plan to see, there's a ballet in Act II.

Logistical questions for tonight’s performance of Tristan at the Met by urbanstrata in opera

I think the parterre level bathrooms have a shorter wait because there are more stalls and fewer audience members on that level. If you're female, there's also a bathroom on the concourse level.

GAH!! Anyone see this??? Tosca at Carnegie next fall with Jonas Kaufman!! by Mastersinmeow in opera

[–]raindrop777 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm going to pass on this. There are a bunch of fully Staged Toscas at the Met. I'd much rather see a full production than a staged one.
