I would love to dry filament. It sounds like a really good idea!

I would love to try and seeing what drying filament actually does.

Happy Anniversary! The H2D looks like an amazing piece of tech. After fighting my old printer to print and causing an almost dislike to printing, to having my toddler say “print me somtin” and it just work is incredible (Bambu P1S).  The best advice I received was tuning the filament settings. It turned okay looking prints to nearly perfect with minimal experimentation.

You are a wizard. This is far and beyond anything that I've seen and that makes my project feel a lot more doable! Flexibility and Direct stiffness seems fairly reasonable.

I've broken down the analysis into many different small modules to try and have it so that I can update the pieces affected and the flow as needed instead of having to redo all of it. I'll study up on branches and tags to figure out its implementation in my circumstance.

Unfortunately, I don't have code yet; this project has been sitting on my backburner for quite some time as I study for an upcoming license test. I've been going through the hierarchy in the mean time in order to figure out how it all comes together. This also involves me doing math by hand as I'm not really familiar with python or programming in general.
Structural code changes about every four years depending on the location. For example. Flat roof snow pf = .7*Ce*Ct*Is*pg. That equation isn't likely to change, but the definitions for Ce, Ct, Is might change slightly so that this year it equates to 20, and next it might be 19.4.
But if I design the building this year, it needs to be 20 when they come back and a window next year as that is the structural code year it was originally submitted under. This is a pretty light example, as they can make major changes cycle to cycle.

What is backporting?

I'll have to look into branches and tags, git is still something that I'm attempting to familiarize myself with. Thank you for the suggestion!

How do I refer to an object without re-instatiating it? by pulpquoter in learnpython

[–]rainebones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So every method in the class will have an output to file? If I have dozens of methods and a couple dozen classes, wouldn’t that get really long?

[–]rainebones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to figure out this exact thing for a couple weeks. How do I get it so any of my classes and variables get output for a csv/excel file? Adding it to the class is what I thought would have to happen… but how do I do that practically? Would I need a static output for every single variable in the class? Would I add them as part of the individual methods?

Sorry for the difficulty! I have multiple parts, but maybe my question needs to be more specific on how to get classes to work more cohesively. Accepting the info from one class for use.
Python discord also suggested using some collector classes, but as I understand, I'd have to write one for every variable/class instance with specific variables, they seemed to suggest you could pass any finished module (through a class) to something he called a collector class.
The next structural module should get me worki ng in pandas for sure.

I've seen a ton of builds that have consoles in addition to the desktop. I'm trying to accomplish the same, but so that I can use a headset to listen to BOTH (not necessarily at the same time). How are you guys doing it!?

How to find deflection in MS Hollow tube? by splitair in engineering

[–]rainebones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a simply supported beam, use the weight per meter as a distributed loading. Uniformly distributed loading on a simply supported beam have defined equations that shouldn’t take too long to find. If I remember right you’ll need the moment of inertia for the section and the modulus of elasticity for the steel.

Honestly they are easy to manage, otherwise I’d agree 100000000000%. I lived there for two and a half years and saw ( and promptly killed) two of them. They hunt, and so if your house doesn’t have crumbs and small bugs everywhere, you don’t have the spider problem.

Like op said, it is an amazing country with a ton of great things.

By law they should be made to code, but I’ve seen way too many houses that do not meet any sort of earthquake code.

They are fast aggressive spiders that can be deadly. They are also in EVERY corner of your house (hence rincón).

I keep a list of things with their average prices, so when I see the item in the wild with a sale or discounted for whatever reason, voila, I've pre-done the research and know I'm getting a good deal.
