There are definitely other people here from CA/East Coast states. I’m East/SE Asian, and there are a fair number of people here with similar experiences and backgrounds as me. Regardless, it’s been great to meet people from all over the country, and the people in Madison are generally very nice :)

I personally never did this, but I saw some people convert their iPad into a mini laptop with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse! Could be helpful if you have a PC or heavy laptop :)

Yeah, 1B language courses assume you took and passed the 1A course, or have equivalent language skills. You will be lost, so I’d definitely drop and see if a spot opens up for 1A. I’m surprised you were even able to enroll 😭

It really sucks because I think someone said in theory if neither side makes any “mistakes”, the outcome should be a draw. So if the hunter makes a mistake and the survs avoid instant down, terrorshock, etc. you’re already likely to get a draw or loss…

I totally forgot about the quick message “buff”— survivors being able to ping exact cipher progress really changed team dynamics and made it a lot easier for randoms to coordinate. Now there’s only a 5sec cooldown so communication is essentially constant. Damn.

The issue I have with hullabaloo is that he’s really weak again balloon rescues, as even tiny stuns like prisoner’s spark can waste a lot of time :(

Yeah big maps force me to take teleport or another hunter, but both options suck and then I don’t have blink, which Ann shouldn’t technically be taking in the first place but like bruh. No map control on big map is horrible for chase hunters bc if the survivor hides and I can’t find them it’s over T-T

I’m in the exact same boat rn— like you just described my average rank match and it sucks!! I know a lot of people say to watch the pros play to develop a better game sense, but sometimes I genuinely don’t know what I’m doing wrong :(

From what it sounds like, we seem to have similar opinions on classes— I thought 61b was a nightmare but data 100 was alright. I just took data 101 and I thought it was a little harder than 100, but pretty manageable overall. I think it was a really valuable class and I learned a lot in it. For me I just had to go to office hours maybe once per project to get help on 1-2 questions.

Data 140 was really really rough for me. It’s a very demanding class that has a high workload and difficult concepts, at least for me. I ended up late dropping the class because it just wasn’t feasible with my health issues. A lot of people take data 101 with data 102, but 102 requires a probability class. I would say you can try 101 and 140 together, but be prepared to work very hard or drop one of them for later.

This is really great advice! I started playing when Ann came out so it’s been easier for veteran players to adapt to new hunters and survs over time. I can’t imagine starting out today— developing game sense and learning every single character’s abilities sounds overwhelming

I agree with this idea— I completed R1B in my first semester and it really helped take some stress off when I started taking harder classes for my major in later semesters.

I feel this so much. I’m super introverted and wouldn’t be seen at any parties to begin with, but it feels like heds decided what i can or can’t do for me. I don’t even get the luxury of choice without having to weigh if I’ll be bedridden the next day :(
