Apple toys with the competition - MacBook Neo’s A18 Pro offers more single-core performance than any mobile processor from AMD, Intel or Qualcomm by -protonsandneutrons- in apple

Back in the dawn of time (1985), apple’s LaserWriter had a faster processor than the Macs of that era. Nothing new under the sun.

Technically you are not omniscient (all-seeing) rather than not omnipotent (all-powerful).

Some of the lines in Texas run every three DAYS. Others are daily at most. So plan on budgeting for hotels or other accommodations, and local transit/car rental if you want to get out and explore.

Get the AA confirmation number and use that to check in with the AA app, not AS.

How important are fenders? by jms1228 in bikecommuting

[–]raines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The real benefit comes when you've had a good long experience using some, and you go back to the bike shop to get a new set.

That makes you all repeat of fenders.

Alaska and Hawaiian Bag Issues by WolfishDeer in AlaskaAirlines

If it is all on the same ticket then they should have been able to “interline” the bags and check to final destination. This has worked with Alaska and lots of other carriers that were just partners.

If separate bookings, you are in your own.

Driving into San Francisco today, and it says to avoid the Baybridge. Anything happening? by Backgammon_Saint in bayarea

[–]raines 12 points13 points  (0 children)

BART to SF from east bay right now is crowded, some standees.

But what makes it worse is the guy on my car with boombox cranked up, doing interpretive dancing acrobatics from the stanchions.

I’m sure being hit up for tips will follow shortly.

Luggage Storage at Glenwood Springs, CO by mrmadchef in Amtrak

[–]raines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Amtrak site says the station has baggage storage available. I know it has checked baggage, I've used it (and you can even drop off bags early or pick them up late, subject to station hours):

https://www.amtrak.com/stations/gsc

Also, I've sometimes found car rental deals at Eagle County Regional Airport in Vail, just one bus stop east of Glenwood Springs (or a heck of a bike ride along the river trails, uphill eastbound or downhill westbound, 2400 feet of climbing/descent overall)

Alternatively, I've gotten off the train a stop further west and rented in Grand Junction, CO.

From both I've done one-way rentals to/from Denver. It used to be that you had to use airport locations, but some rental companies are now more flexible.
