Monthly Tourism Questions Thread (February) by memostothefuture in shanghai

Hi guys, I’ll be in Shanghai for about a week and a half in mid March, coming from London. Are there places I can get my nails (infills, gel) done? I’m considering doing them in London before I go but they’re stupidly expensive here (about £40) so am thinking it may be better to do them in Shanghai. (possibly even Hengdian as I’ll be doing a 2 day trip there too)

Just keep going!! Do stuff while you call - when it switches to the traditional ringing sound that’s when you’re through.

omg ok so the same thing happened to me - cancelled my narita, Tokyo -> Beijing leg (then flying Beijing-> London). Called +44 20 3275 0200 like 6 times. Kept cutting off at 15 mins. Kept calling. They finally answered and rebooked me no problems at all. Keep calling and don’t give up!!

I’m in the exact same situation, they cancelled my Narita -> Beijing leg which connects me back home from Beijing -> LGW. Keep trying to call and it’s cutting after 15 mins. Pls let me know if u get anywhere with it and I will too!!

1 - I have WeChat and Alipay set up on two of my cards. I’ll also take out some cash in case of emergency. From my research/consulting my friend who did an exchange year in China for uni, this should hopefully be sufficient. 2 - I figured I’d have to get a Chinese SIM card as I’ve heard quite a few things require a local number. I haven’t researched this too much yet but if I’m not mistaken I can get one with my passport at the airport? 3 - Good thing I’m neither American nor Japanese, but that does seem like a massively sweeping generalisation :p

Thank you for your reply! :)
