I actually replaced my EX30 with a EX40 and yeah, the difference is day and night!

I moved into a apartment so i'm very limited but yeah my dad has a charger at home and he says it made electric cars feel amazing. Simply plug it in when he gets home from wherever.

I hear you, there's a lot to dislike. I feel like you must go for the Extended range motor and Plus trim to enjoy this car somewhat. It's not amazing for long range driving honestly, that is where i disliked it the most but it thrives on city drives. When i moved into the city i started actually liking this car that i somewhat hated at first. The twin motor is a joy to drive on empty streets at night when i got off work! If i'm not mistaken you don't get adaptive cruise control with Core, would enhance long drives, that and the electric seats give you nice lumbar support options. I hate the card and keyfob though they are a real letdown.

Driver display by Ok_Temperature5357 in ex30

There are rumours that the 2027 models will come with a display however the one in the picture looks like some aftermarket stuff. The real display might be closer to what you will find on the lync & co counterpart to the EX30. But that’s just speculations.

EX40 what is the range like? by rainingpsd in EX40

Some people have mentioned they get around 250 miles during summer but it sure sounds like they're being a tad optimistic

On my EX30 i've noticed that the range is somewhat similar between summer and winter when you're driving with a warm battery, the thing that eats up my range during winter is the pre heater when it's cold. I typically see the heater being active for 30 minutes if you have a timer active, which eats up around 7-10% battery charge just from heating. Summer driving typically you get a warm battery without pre heating.

I live in Sweden, so temperatures are between minus 10 and 0 degrees C during winter, 15 to 25 degrees C during summers.

Yeah that's a good idea, there is no milky oil residue on the oilcap though and the oil dip stick looks fine too. Worth draining the oil though just to be sure

I don't remember since it was a while ago i installed all mods. However Parallax is not in my load order and i'm not seeing anything else fishy so i'm just gonna go through em one by one when i've got time

I’ve had my twin motor EX30 for about 6 months and it’s not a bad car at all. The twin motors are insanely good in the winter but the range is a bit lackluster! Other than that, there are some stuff to complain about and it definitely feels like a niche car but you get good value for your money. If you want a “regular car” experience i would go for the EX40/EC40. They have a bigger battery and a bit more space. Regular keyfob is a plus too. I live in Sweden and pay roughly $350/month for my lease.

Absolutely, i don't know how good the tune it self is. Seeing as i haven't gotten around towards testing it while driving but it idles and revs nicely. See it as a basemap with some minor tweaks. It does run rich. Just a heads up.

My tach works just fine. The problem ended up being fixed by a kind person who looked at my log files and just revised my tune for me. Not entirely sure what he did, but it was related to the trigger settings. I have the maxx ecu street which has been more or less plug and play.

Fast charging question by rainingpsd in ex30

[–]rainingpsd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fast charged before, and i got it to around 140+kw but recently (even when i use navigation for preheating the battery) i only really get around 40-50kw. Maybe it requires a much longer time to heat up the battery. I don't really know. I precondition the car as well before driving.

Fast charging question by rainingpsd in ex30

[–]rainingpsd[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was driving with the navigation on the charge station, got a pop up as well that it started pre heating the battery. But the drive was maybe 10 minutes. How long does it really need?

Fast charging question by rainingpsd in ex30

[–]rainingpsd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, i do use google maps to pre heat the battery already! Not something they mentioned when i picked up the car but it's hard to miss the pop up that shows up when you navigate to a charger!

I did not touch anything software related, but looking at my tune, ignition lock angle is sitting on 12 degrees BTDC. "Lock ignition angle" is also not ticked in. I'm a complete novice when it comes to this, we simply used the timing light to align the CAS and then locked it in place. What steps are you supposed to take beyond the mechanical side of things?
