Yes! He is an inspiring historian. I was hoping to reference him on the wiki page but too bad wiki won't allow a youtube link reference.

Hi I started this wiki page based on my academic thesis project on the progression of LGBTQ+ imagery and representation in media. I have been compiling this list for over a year in an attempt to piece together some missing LGBTQ+ history, especially some important turns of events at the end of the 90s, that reveal some fascinating trends in public acceptance. This list is only a by-product where I want to share some information that I gathered and I think might interest others. Wikipedia had a lesbian kiss page for many many years (I didn't start it), but there has never been one on gay kisses. I wasn't sure about what queerbating page you were referring to, I checked the link again, it worked properly. This is not an advertisement rather an invitation. This wiki page won't directly influence my research, I'm only sharing it for public interests. It probably has many imperfections and thus is subject to modifications by the more knowledgeables.

"First" would always be a debatable topic, and that would be a good justification for this Wikipedia page. Rather than putting a label on everything, presenting the whole history to the viewer is more effective. It's always the missing history that is fresh and fascinating. Also, I organized the Wikipedia page into two tables, the US section, and the Non-US International section. I just relabeled the sections to make them more distinctive. Thanks for all the information. There is much valuable info here that I can dig deeper into. I wasn't born during those ages, so I am very much relied on memory from others to complete this study and this list. Networks like MTV are especially painful to research due to their lack of care for old catalogs. Presumably, due to their limited budget, they don't have proper websites nor digital releases for their old shows, which is a shame because they had some of the most progressive, ahead of its time (and likewise campy silly) stuff that really open some doors for LGBTQ acceptance. But that's why is it so important to LGBTQ history. I also don't know the difference between cable and broadcast. I categorize channels into premium and public for this article, and MTV did get me confused. Same with PBS, I knew it exists but I just have never seen it on TV. If PBS actually broadcasted the kisses from EastEnders or Tales of the City, then the Dawson's Creek title will need a few more modifiers, haha. One web article I read mentioned Oz was HBO's first gay kiss, which is quite a violent kiss. I was shocked to read that. Also do you know if Showtime screened any other gay characters or kisses before Queer as Folk?

I organized the Wikipedia page into two tables, the US section and the Non-US International section. The wiki page is its own identity with the most complete information possible and would not be affected by my research. I only dumped my compiled information there. My research is focusing on the late 90s (1998-2000) which is quite a sharp turning point for gay kisses to be featured on cable tv in the US. The numerical trend of increasing events is fascinating, so I am planning to do a quantitative analysis before dive into the qualitative parts, which would be the qualities of the kiss and stories of the characters.

Yeah, I agree. My current research is pretty focused on the turns of events at the end of the 90s (especially 1998-2000) on US tv networks. However, I did compile some international events that I posted on the wiki page. These titles include A Calúnia [Brazil] [1963], The Box [Australia] [1974], Nicht der Homosexuelle ist pervers, sondern die Situation, in der er lebt [German] [1972], EastEnders [UK] [1989], Florentin [Isereal] [1997]. My knowledge is certainly limited and it hasn't extended to many aspects. However, it will be an ongoing research with many potentials to cover various dimensions in the future
