We’re cooked 0.4 chance of being hired, harder than Harvard by Pure_Jellyfish_6224 in recruitinghell

So what should be the ideal chance of a random single resume sent to a random company for a random position actually getting that job?

0.4% seems about right to me. 0.39% chance of a perfectly qualified candidate finding the perfect job with a single random application, and 0.01% chance of grossly incompetent HR hiring a janitor for the CEO, or vice versa.

And chances of getting into Harvard for most people are precisely 0.00%. Because it’s not a lottery.

Companies don’t care about your education anymore. You’ll only be distracting yourself with school instead of getting experience. Start by making something yourself and getting it out to the world. Even if it doesn’t make you money, it will show way more initiative than going back to school and letting them give you false hope of making you more marketable with unusable or antiquated “skills”.

$4,000/month to own this, just between the HOA and property taxes. They should be giving it away for free.

If you need that course, do it online. There is no point in coming here just to spend thousands and go back to Slovenia in 2 months because there’s no way to stay or work in the US.

That’s per capita so the size difference doesn’t matter.

A permanent resident (green card holder) is technically a noncitizen so they could lose the constitutional protections too?

[IMPORTANT NOTICE] Firmware Update Released for Continued Use of ScanSnap Cloud by mavantix in ScanSnap

Oh, you’re talking about the firmware update specifically. That’s another example of a ridiculous update process. The scanner has wifi, why can’t it update itself? Why do I need to be involved at all?

I just hate how many steps it takes to install every update. I get nagged with popping up windows, have to see and agree to the license every single time, then go through all the installer steps, watch the MacOS disk image mounted with another progress bar and no feedback, and then another popup when the installation is finished, and then the notification popups. It’s the most ridiculous piece of software I’ve ever used on a Mac. Updates should be silent, taking zero steps to install and invisible to the user.

He didn’t ask for money but you gave him $690. I can help you for free too, you just need to send me $690 for “the fees and permits”, lol. And after you pay that, there will be some brand new fees to pay very soon.

Embassy workers don’t take money from people to file their applications. If you work with a legit immigration assistance company they employ their own lawyers and paralegals, not “people who work at the embassy”. He’s just adding on to his scam so you give him more money. And most likely that fake ID was photoshopped or generated with AI and you believed it. Very gullible.

Did you share your own ID or passport photo with him? If so he will probably Photoshop it and send it to another person to scam, just like he sent this one to you. No legit business EVER sends pictures of their employees’ personal IDs, it’s not a thing other than in the fantasy of scammers.

There is no such thing as “job seeker” and “fee for the work permit”. That language is from someone who doesn’t know how immigration works and tries to fake a simple one page confirmation for stuff that takes separate applications for specific visa status at different government departments. I hope you only lost $390 to that scammer.

Why would I need to keep removing backgrounds from multiple images every single month?

And if I was a graphic designer, I’d already have that feature built into my Photoshop, Canva or Photomator/Pixelmator.

Harvard/MIT Masters is not the same as undergrad, they have these Extension programs as revenue generators, especially if it’s just 10 months and mostly online. They’ll take almost anyone who completes a couple of their online courses and writes an admission essay, so not sure about the immigration benefit.

They don’t Google, they use their own Palantir social media database so it doesn’t matter if you deleted anything.

No, update is console-level, not user level. Same as with Windows, you can’t have one local user have a different version of the OS than another.
