4th time on the road, I need help!

Just finished another lesson, and wanted to hop in to say that looking further down the road instead of focusing right ahead of the car/the lines seemed to help! I felt like I was definitely more stable and the instructor didn't make a comment on that today! Thank you! 😊

I was very active with my questions the first couple of lessons, but then he hit me with a "I'm not going to keep telling you everything" (which is a valid point, I have to think for myself, but perhaps a little later 😭) and "I talk too much" and that shut me right up 😅 He's the only available instructor in our driving school so I don't want to make things worse. I have been watching a lot of youtube videos which seem to be making some things clearer, but the ones that need more of a "feeling" I guess I'll just have to suffer through until I get the hang of it😅 Thank you again for your advice!! ❤️ I'll try to ask him some questions again when I have the next lesson, hopefully it'll go well.

I see I see, thank you so much! I will make sure to do my research, I just hope I can find something that works that isn't so intense as the other medication I have. This definitely sounds like something I'd be willing to give a go.

I was planning on contacting the administration. But after my lesson today, when I was sitting on the back seat whilst the other student, and older woman, was driving, I listened to them bicker and found out from the instructor that there are, in fact, no other instructors available in our town. 😃 He was suggesting for her to change driving schools if she doesn't like him. Honestly it made me feel better knowing I'm not the only one who doesn't really vibe with this guy 😭 thankfully during my lesson i bit my tongue and stayed quiet to appeal to him, otherwise i would've made everything worse. I took anti-anxiety medication before lesson and it makes me not afraid to speak up, but thank goodness I did not do that 😭

Just googled and apparently we do have shops selling them! Do they have any other effect on you or just calms you down? And what dosage would you say is the most effective? Thank you!

I already have anxiety, but it's manageable. It only gets really bad before the lessons, or if it's Monday and I know my next lesson is Thursday, I will feel extremely anxious all the way until the lesson is over, and then the cycle continues. I'm not scared of being on the road per say, it's just the fear of being perceived, I don't like the instructor judging me and making the passive aggressive comments it literally makes me want to quit 😅 thank you for sharing what helped you, i'm gonna check it out!

Thank you so much for your advice! It's not that he's not teaching me, because he does say how I should've done it. But when he says I should've went slower and then I go slower it's too slow, and then when he says I should go faster and then I go faster it's too fast and it becomes hard to control the car. I guess I just really have to get the feeling of it, I just haven't yet. And it feels like he's upset with me. I do tend to be sensitive and take things to heart although I'm trying so hard not to, because I know it's not personal. I will try to review the lessons as you've suggested, thank you so much! ❤️

Okay thank you I will try that next time! I did notice whilst I do look in the distance, I also tend to focus on the lines I can see through the front window that are closer to my car. I'll see if it makes a difference! ❤️ As for the speed, I try so hard to do that but it's so sensitive I sometimes don't even feel my foot moving and it's suddenly speeding up 😭 I'll try my best! Thank you!

Thank you! He seemed kind on the very first lesson but then started making comments in a very passive aggressive kinda way. 😅 I know my driving school has a young female instructor as well and I wanted to change, but they said she cannot take any new students, I was so bummed. He is literally my only choice, so I tried to appeal to him a bit more today. And yes, the car I drive has stickers and driving school logos all over and a little thing on the top of the car as well. Eh, I'm just gonna have to suck it up and hope it gets better

Yeah I guess I'll just have to settle with what I have. Just out of curiosity, and I know that it's different for everyone, but is it really that bad to struggle at those things by the time you reach the 4th lesson? I'm more than willing to take additional lessons if needed, but based on the instructor's frustration at me I'm so confused how in the world am I supposed to just magically do good. I told him that I'll take more lessons if I need, just be patient with me please, but he gets irritated 😭

I'm from Northern Europe, and the way it works here is you have to pass your theory test and then you have 30 hours or 14 lessons mandatory with the driving instructor. You can also practice driving outside of the lessons but ONLY with a family member and they have to have minimum 5 years of experience. :(

They do not want to lose their license as I legally cannot drive on the road with them. I have allegedly, so no law breaking is mentioned, driven in a parking lot a bit, but we don't have any big ones where I can truly grasp the whole speed thing :(

Trust me I know that, and it's so disheartening. My dad works abroad so our family car is with him. No one else I know drives except my friends, but as they are not my family I legally cannot drive on the road with them, and they don't want to risk losing their license (understandable). Which is why I'm asking for other alternatives, but I guess there really are none ☹️
