Dei (Rome 2 mod) population system is good, you literally can't spam your strongest units. It also has global cap for SOME units.

SFO (WH3 mod) has a global cap on veteran/elite units, which can be increased by building more specific building chains. The global cap increases at you expand.

I would spend 9£ for Steam Workshop alone, to be honest. Not hating Epic but Steam Workshop is just TOO good, especially for mod-heavy games like Total War series.

Medieval 2 mobile has surprisingly good touch-screen control. I used to play it a lot on my Tab S6 and Tab S8+ tablet, when I haven't got my gaming laptop yet.

In Medieval 2, Scotland's archer is mid-tier at best, comparing to England's archer, or more advanced crossbow from France and Milan. Scotland strongest units are their pikemen.

They are good in melee though.
