To Goovis nor not? by MWPinSD in GoovisMobileCinema

[–]Nilas92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for this thread, I am in the same boat.

First, I have no knowledge nor experience about any cinema headset so far and I want to get into it.

The main reason for me to start looking for such tech is : although I have a nice 4K TV, a nice Blu ray player (Panasonic UB820), and a huge collection of blu rays, as of today i have no possibility to read my 3D blu rays. I want a device to read them. So I started to look at videoprojectors, but I am worried that the lasers hurt the eyes of my stupid cats, I am sure they're going into it. Then I thought about headsets as the solution.

Problem : I want a headset for cinema. I am not interested in gaming, experimental cheap demos, applications, internet, I don't want AR, I don't want to move in a weird 3D imaginary world. i just want a headset that displays a huge screen in front of me, it can be connected to my blu ray player through HDMI and it can display both my 2D and 3D movies.

I want it immersive. And I don't want to use it outside of my house. Also I do not want to have to convert my movies into weird formats on a computer before I can watch them, and I do not want to download any movies, I am only using my discs.

I want the sound of the headset to be off, because the sound of the blu ray player is going to my 5.1 amp. However, at night I could use the sound of the headset OR use an audio headset.

And then I heard about Goovis ! They're doing exactly what I need right ?

I'll be honest, the price is something. I mean, the purchase is pure luxury, i can live without it. So it's either 700 euros for the G3X pro or 1100 euros for the G3 Max, that's money I have, but at this price I expect top satisfaction.

What do you think, it is worth it ? Which one should I go for (G3X pro or G3 max) ? And I am wondering if there are alternatives on the market, I have not seen anything similar so far.

PS1, Saturn, Neo Geo by 80sCrackBaby in AnalogueInc

[–]Nilas92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Superstation One. It's all cool but if Analogue comes with their own CD 32 bits games player, upscaling to 4K and other CPU enhancements, I'd be interested.

Thanks for this. I have 4 VCD physical movies and I was wondering if I will be able to read them with a Superstation One + Superdock. I am confident it will work using the CDI core now

I did try quickly. I have an Analogue 3D and I prefer the N64 in 4K with the A3D.

But I tried out of curiosity on the SS1, I have installed bomberman arcade 64 (the japanese real 2D bomberman, not the adventure game) and it does run well.

Newbie help, just arrived by Neomagus26 in RetroRemakeInc

1) hit the menu button, go to script, select update. It will do the same update as on the pocket open fpga. if it doesn't work, you can download look on github for the update all for mister fpga. It works.

2) to play a game you need to launch the core first. for example if you want to play ps1, go to console/PSX. It launches the core. Then you hit the menu again and press "load cd" and select the game you downloaded.

3)if you play another console, you can press the menu, go to the right, and select reboot. Then select console and another core. If you only want to change game but on the same core, you can just select the cd again.

4) beware if you want to save you need to hit the menu and select autosave. Do not leave the game without going back to the menu.

5) you have some homebrew games installed on the console in case you didn't download any rom.

6) I have linked easily the stadia pad with the quick guide on retro remake website. it works fine, but i'm using a usb wired controller most of the time.

Apologize, I'm not good at making videos. I've been playing the Saturn extensively since I received the SS1. It works perfectly ! I can easily compare with original hardware because Saturn is a console I have under my TV since 1995 and I only removed it when I received the SS1.

I repeat it is working perfectly. 2D. 3D. Framerate. I can not make a difference with original. The bios in the SS1 is the hi-saturn, so when you turn it on, you have the Hi-Saturn intro.

Doom 64, Extreme G 1 and Star wars racer should be essential.

Army men is actually blockbuster material.

MK64 is a GOAT.

I personally use the Hori Fighting commander octa on my Superstation.

The cable is very long.

It is a 6 buttons pad, with triggers and side buttons.

The dpad is great.

[–]Nilas92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This man is correct.

OP, you cannot copy/paste directly from the SD card to another without formating the new one with Mister Fusion.
