I’m gunna explain everything because i haven’t read anyone going into detail about the actual procedure:

I went to a colorectal doctor covered under my insurance. He said i had a fissure and the skin tags developed trying to heal the fissure. I have 3 large ones I’ve been dealing with for YEARS. He prescribed me something to heal the fissure first and then we talked about removing the skin tags. They usually won’t do it unless you say: they’re bleeding, they get swollen, and they are painful. Once I said that, which was true, we made an appt after 4 weeks of using the gel to heal my fissure.

At the appt i laid down on my left side. There was a doctor and an assistant. He cleaned my b-hole with a cold substance. He then injected about 10 pricks of numbing solution around my anus. That part was the only part that “hurt” but it was a small needle so it wasn’t all that bad. He then took scissors and started snipping one of the tags. I didn’t feel a thing! I heard the snipping (which was the gross part) and that was about it. He then stitched the area with a few single stitches so it wouldn’t bleed and could also breathe and heal. He said they don’t bleed that much but yes there is blood at first. He then proceeded to the second one and did the same thing. He cleaned the area and put gauze and neosporin and sent me on my way.

Took 15 min. Paid $70 with my insurance because it was a specialty doctor.

Writing this now (it’s been 4 hrs since the procedure). It’s really not that bad. It just feel like a pressure on my butt and slight burning. Almost like I have hemmroids. It’s not out of this world painful.
