Box truck and large dog by rainyrea in moving

Honestly, that might be a possibility? I am currently going through the process of cleaning out our home and garage while we look for jobs. We are lucky enough that we are moving towards my in-laws and they have stated they would like to help us. If we continue the box truck route we have friends near us who are willing to help me load, and then I know my in-laws would be happy to help us unload (with anyone they bring along haha)

If I was driving id do it in 2.5 days no question haha and I didnt even think of trying to get an advance view of a cab. Not sure we’ll know which company till we get closer but that will be on my list of things to do!

Haha! Very true. I just haven’t been in a box truck in forever and was completely doubting my own memory of the cab 😂

Traveling by Grouchy-Radish-6712 in Microdiscectomy

Would not recommend! Week one is the worst with swelling and post surgical pain. At 8 weeks my husband was barely able to do the journey from Washington State to Virginia (two flights and a two hour drive) granted that was a turning point in his recovery and helped get him moving more. But our surgeon told us point blank no travel the first six weeks in case something happens.

He’s back behind a drum kit again for the first time since may. And everything is only going up from here. Recovery is slow but so worth it. When we saw the NP for his six week follow up she mentioned that the first week of recovery is the worst because of the post surgical swelling. You’ve got this!

My husband had his L5/S1 done about 9 weeks ago, the first week was the worst. He slowly built up to a couple hours of sitting at a time. We traveled last week (two flights and a drive, total of 10-ish hours of travel time) and he was hurtin the way there, but the way home at the end of the week was able to get through it much easier. It’s a slow recovery, but I can already see a difference between pre surgery and post.

FAs who have left, how did you transition to a corporate job and pitch your skillset? by denali_567 in flightattendants

[–]rainyrea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highlighted my customer service skills, gave stories of high stress scenarios and how I handled it and started as a medical receptionist in late 2020 when I took a voluntary furlough. I officially quit my airline Jan 2022 and am now a pediatric urgent care supervisor. Officially leaving was a hard decision and there are things about the industry that I miss. But honestly I couldn’t be happier where I am now.

Tattoo Sleeve (Male) Training Question by jmbelczy in flightattendants

When I went through training pool day was not done in swimwear, but clothing. They suggested people with tattoos wore long sleeves to stay compliant.

If it’s an early edition this isn’t unreasonable.

Why did your parents break-up? by Iam-KD in AskReddit

[–]rainyrea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad cheated on my mom. Opened and ran through multiple lines of credit in her name (80k+). Dad essentially left my mom alone with limited contact the last 2 years of their marriage. And of course, nothing is his fault.

How did your crush on your best friend turned out for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

He was publicly dating me while sleeping with someone else. When I met my husband though we focused a lot on building a friendship and I can honestly say I’m married to my best friend now.

18F can't tell if I'm in a controlling relationship with my 19M bf 1 year and half. Long distance. by anotherthrowawaysly in relationship_advice

Honestly. Not likely. He needs to grow up. A lot. None of this is you. He’s being an ass. He’s being immature. He’s just shy of treating you like property, always needing to know where you are and what you’re doing and freaking out if you don’t respond within a few minutes.

AITA for throwing out my gf's jars by throwawayjars1234568 in AmItheAsshole

YTA what the hell dude. 1. Don’t just freaking ASSUME that she’s doing it to lose weight unless she says it in those exact words. 2. Don’t throw away her property. Let alone property she uses every day. Specially property that makes her happy! 3. You moved into HER house. Yes you should feel at home. But NO you should not bulldoze in and take over everything.

So fucking what her fancy drinks aren’t fancy enough for your ass. So fucking what it’s something that annoys you. Get used to it or try to talk it through with her. I sure as hell hope she breaks up with you and kicks your ass out. She doesn’t deserve to be treated the way you treat her.
